10/15/19 debate thread

Considering his M4A plan is going to completely screw over middle class workers, some of us beg to differ.

No, it isn't. You'll pay some more in taxes, but you won't pay any premiums, copays, deductibles, etc.

Get over your hysteria and open your eyes.

Bernie Sanders is the antithesis to everything that Conservatives stand for, by Republican crossover support I assume you mean Trump supporters.

Bernie had just as much reason to believe he had the inside track if not more because he is the reason the political discussion has shifted so far to the left that someone like AOC could openly run as a socialist. If anything it would have been a slap in the face to Bernie had she chose Warren.

Oh please. His plans are more fiscally conservative than the current healthcare system, his social freedom policies harken back to the days of true republicans, before they sold what remained of their souls to the evangelical base. The party of Lincoln is now the party of Falwell and Televangelism.

Have fun with that.

Synopsis of the Dems' proposals:

1. Hand in your money.
2. Hand in your guns.
3. Hand in your safety.
4. Hand in your liberty.

Other than that, it's all good.

Mayor Pete's not straight.

I hope he is not the future of the Democrats. That is one angry man.

My statement was if either Warren or Buttigeg had the nomination, they would balance the ticket with a clean-cut, middle of the road straight white man. Warren and Buttegeg would not be the ticket.

Spelling issues?

It was a cheap levity. Let it go at that.

I do care about my fellow Americans, which is why I oppose the "this has never worked, it will this time" arguments … and then espouse the same old crap that has never worked.

Specifically?

The Right doesnt have solutions. The only thing you guys ever propose is cutting taxes and deregulating.
Nonsense. All you guys propose is more government, more taxes, more rules and less individual choice.

Tell me, what else does the republicant party have?

They haven't done anything (Other than obstruct) on perscription drug prices. Making healthcare more accessible. They've made it harder to vote, I guess.

What's your party stand for?

Deregulation and cutting taxes - and that's it.

How many bills does Mitch have on his desk from the Democratic house?

HUNDREDS.

Your party is getting paid to do NOTHING, and you guys have the audacity to attack "lazy" union employees.

What a ****ing joke.

I pay $500 annually in premiums, I'm pretty sure I'm going to see a dramatic increase in how much I am going to have to pay.

But they're NOT getting paid for doing "nothing" They're getting paid to curtain the stupidity being past by the lunatic fringe in the House. It's called adult supervision.

Paystubs or it didn't happen.

How much is your co-pay? Your deductibles? Your prescription costs? Your maximum out of pocket?

I pay far more than you claim to pay. Way, way more, for me, my wife, and my two kids. I have good insurance, and still pay through the nose; average $2,000 a year for deductibles, etc.

I'd pay way less than I am now.

M4A is the freedom position. Retaining the current system is slavery.

Ohh but the dems are obstructionist.

Look at how sweetly you fold when you have no point to make, and have no counter to my argument.

Everyone knows if Warren gets the nomination she is going to select Rachel Dolezal.

Also, it seems you are a little too hung up on the personal characteristics of one's identity. Not enough people care about that stuff to make it matter.

I'm single and work for a large corporation so my healthcare is largely taken care of by the company and what I pay is largely for elective coverage.

Elective coverage is usually for those with disabilities and who are on SDI, if that's the case, then you have disability insurance and the EC you pay for is supplemental, which would be automatically covered under M4A.

Incorrect. I am a person and did not know that, so that kills your argument that 'everyone knows'. Frankly, I think that is wildA** guess, at best. Where did you come up with that? Are you trolling?

I also disagree with the 2nd statement that no one cares. The art of balancing a ticket usually involves lots of political consultants, because.... well, people care, Dolezal would be a horrible choice.... she brings nothing to the table.

Yes, it is Long term disability coverage, dental, and something else.

Everything else is pretty much covered by my employer.

What? Where did I say that?

I've been a Booker fan for years. If he's on the ticket, even as VP, his charisma (in front of a crowd) and ability to whip up said crowd, would be a major plus for the ticket, bring a huge portion of the African American vote and... as long as he drops "gun control" extremism in favor of more moderate and popular increased background checks, red flag laws, etc. (ala Klobuchar)... he'd be one hell of an asset in the election, and one hell of an asset in the White House.

Not my choice in the primary but I would definitely like him as a veep. He does have that charisma and I think he is quite affable.

Fine example of destroying absolutes as an argument. Well done.

Does what disturb me? You copying and pasting LOL hundreds of times? I wouldn't say it disturbs me. I just think it makes you look like an 11-year-old with an unformed brain. And I didn't try to censor you. You'll know when I report you because I'll tell you. I hope puberty is kind to you.

Puberty? LOL.
So you think I'm some teenager, huh?
You're really funny. How can I not repeat the LOLs? You make me laugh for a long time.

Not sure I agree. Plenty of moderate dems love aoc. Despite her progressive leaning.

Sanders and mayor Pete won last night. Warren sucked.

I'm sure they do like her, as do I. But she and Omar could be liability in the general election for the reasons I stated previously.

Mayor Pete and Klobuchar won...but I guess that depends on who you ask.

Klobuchar was awful. Pete got the best of Warren and Tulsi but overall, meh. Bernie did the best job with the time he had. Yang did well as well. Liz is a liar and exposed. Biden's brain melted.

No one compares to Bernie for a BernieBro.

I think Mayor Pete and Klobuchar won the debate. Klobuchar had the biggest net gain in likeabilty and moved up right behind Biden on issues and Trump beatability. That we are even talking about her and not the other candidates says a lot.

The Fourth Democratic Debate In 6 Charts | FiveThirtyEight

I don't think any of the old ones would make a good president...they're all too old and have too much baggage. Tulsi, Yang, Castro and O'Rourke probably won't make the next debate...and Harris isn't doing that great, either. So that just leaves Mayor Pete and Klobuchar.
