“White Fragility” Prevents White Americans from Confronting Racism

I'm white, Jim Bob. Just because I can understand systemic racism doesn't mean I'm a person of color.

I know. The prejudice in that response to your post was a classic example of racism.

This is why as a Conservative, I said I don't give a rat's ass about skin color.

And here, ladies and gentlemen is a prime example of a black racist. People like you make me want to throw up! I was never raised nor taught that skin color matters. I do believe in King's ideal of judging a person by the content of their character and from what I see, you sir, have none!

Oh, I’d say they are good at discussing why we need voter ID to protect integrity of elections but not more security to protect integrity of voting machines.

Well that's why I've not read it. I found that statement and couple of others I've seen posted here, invalidate the author based on bias.

I didn't find her article very compelling, persuasive, or accurate. Without knowing more, I'd put it further on the SJW side of the spectrum than on the Sociology constructive observation perspective. Whatever that means.

One really irksome thing is the argument that white people are afraid to admit racism, when there has been as successful movement to have a near zero tolerance towards racism in many public ways and jobs, forums, etc. It's like hammer and an anvil. Terrible consequences if you are racist, but you shouldn't be thin skinned/fragile...but the consequences are quite extreme...how do you think people should react? I think she's needling on purpose. She uses broad brush white people language, and that's not meant to include whites, it's meant to piss them off.

A few reasonable points mixed in with that mess, doesn't salvage it IMO.

We all know you really want to call him an Uncle Tom, it's obvious what your real problem with him is.

He's a hack, just like all the other Town Hall clowns.

He's an accomplished author who has a number of a excellent books. It's okay I just wanted to let you show how uninformed you are about Mr. Sowell. You didn't fail in that regard.

"White fragility" is code for people who want to be racist against white people but don't want to allow them to get mad about it.

I'd say all the butthurt I see in this thread proves the authors of both the article and the study correct.

Perhaps because she pointed out that they themselves, the social justice crowd, were part of the problem? Of course they wouldn't like that. That's the same denial that others are accused of as well.

It's still difficult for many of them to deal with reality, especially when they get to see it firsthand.
