‘We should be very afraid’: Admiral who oversaw Bin Laden raid hits out at Trump over sacking of intelligence chief

Admiral McRaven opens with the famous quote from Irish statesman and philosopher Edmund Burke: “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”

He lists the good men and women that have come and gone in the Trump administration: Jim Mattis, John Kelly, HR McMaster, Sue Gordon, Dan Coats, and now Joe Maguire, and later mournfully says that “in this administration, good men and women don’t last long”.

Mr Maguire’s extensive career, including 36 years as a Navy Seal, is described in detail by Admiral McRaven who paints a picture of a patriot and a man of integrity....

When news of the briefing reached Mr Trump, he was reportedly “livid” and complained that Democrats would use it against him. Mr Maguire was dismissed shortly afterwards.

The New York Times reports that Mr Grenell has already installed his own leadership team. He has also requested the intelligence behind the classified briefing Mr Maguire gave to the House Intelligence Committee last week, in which he informed lawmakers that Russia is interfering in the 2020 presidential election in Mr Trump’s favour.

They tried to help sanders in 2016, as they did with all of Hillary opponents. They did this to split the dem vote so Hillary would lose.

they wanted her to lose and Trump to win.

Today, they are supporting Bernie because they have accepted Trump's desire to have him the nominee, and the reason Trump want's Bernie as the nominee is that he believes Bernie would be the easiest opponent to beat. He believes this because he thinks the "socialist" moniker will be easy to beat.

Thing is, Bernie knows that he'd call any democrat a socialist, so Bernie doesn't give a ****, and he' under estimating the resolve of Bernie's base. He underestimates the fact that the moderate left, most of them, will hold their nose and vote for him, including 6% of the Bernie supporters who did not vote for Hillary and voted for Trump, will return to Bernie because he is their first choice.

Trump and the right fails to grasp that Bernie will garner more votes than any other democrat, because IF a moderate Dem is nominated, and Bernie is the front runner, Bernie's base, being very young, devoted, and ideological, will feel cheated, and they won't reward the moderate if he or she is chosen in a brokered convention, they will leave the top of the ticket blank.

Moderates, being older, more pragmatic, are less inclined to do that, they understand the importance that not voting is a vote for Trump, so they will hold their nose and vote for Bernie, that is why Bernie will be a better opponent for dems in 2020, he will get more votes, overall, than anyone else. His rallies garner 15 - 20k attendees, and believe me when I tell you that that fact will spook Trump, as Bernie's rallies get bigger and bigger if he is the nominee. Bernie will excite the dem base like we haven't seen since Obama.

God help dems if any of the other candidates are chosen if there is a brokered convention. Warren is the exception, but if there is a brokered convention, they will pick Klobuchar or Biden, or maybe Buttigeig. If they pick Bloomberg, that would be the worst possible choice, he will destroy the democratic party just as Trump is destroying the GOP. ( when Trump goes, the GOP will be in tatters ).

So, I say to Trump and Trumpsters, including Putin; "Be careful about what you ask for".
 
We are so utterly and completely frigged up. So Dirtbag Donnie so dislikes the briefing from Intel regarding 2020 Russian Election Interference that he fires McGuire (another Acting) this time the DNI and installs a complete idiot toady that knows nothing about the IC as the new ACTING DNI. In the meantime Trump claims he knows nothing of 2020 Russian Election Interference. How many times has DonDon traipsed out the tired old "I know nothing" story. If he knows nothing its because he does not want to know. Then the NSA comes out and publicly comments on the whole thing including Bernie Sanders. What the hell is the NSA doing commenting on domestic politics?

You want to know the saddest part of this? NOBODY CARES. Nobody in the Dem party cares. Nobody in the T-Party cares. NOBODY CARES. You might find a few Dem politicians howling at the moon and a few TV talking heads wailing crocodile tears and literally nobody else cares. The whole country is coming down around our ears daily and NOBODY cares. The Millennials and the GenXer's want nothing to do with the mountains of personal debt that they themselves had a hand in creating for themselves and the Trumpettes want no more brown people and you can simply define the entirety of the current Bernie crowd and the current Trump crowd in terms that simplistic and that transactional. We have grown so STUPID politically and geopolitically that we would not know an actual threat if it hit us over the head attached to a cast iron skillet. Yet its these two dynamics that dominate the current political state of affairs in this country. Everything else including Healthcare is nipping around the edges of these two crowds of loony birds and their loony, self-serving, self-aggrandizing nonsense. You can all stop yammering about high handed, know it all Boomers until the rest of you know anything AT ALL.

I simply do not know why some country does not attack us militarily right now. For God sake did Panana rebuild its military after Bush 41 destroyed it? Panama could take us right now. We would be yammering about our debt and the new family of brown people that just moved in down the street while Panama kicked our asses.

Trump has the Shidus touch, EVERYTHING he touches turns to ****; including many spotless and revered reputations of many good men and women that have spent their lives in service to this country. Anyone that stands up to him, disagrees with him or calls him out for his ignorance and ineptitude is trashed as a liar and traitor. This from a man who wouldn't know the truth if it fell on him. His stock in trade is lying about things he's done, crimes he's committed, his failures in life and business. He lies about people that oppose him to off load true accusations against himself. He's a conman from top to bottom and NOTHING more.
