The Problem of Sex

He admits them.

He admits he did what the women said he did, but he also said he didn't do anything the women said no to. They felt they were coereced to do so because of his celebrity status, not that they said no and he continued. I think that's different than forcing himself on them and sexual assault, and calling him a sex offender.

Most guys probably would get that label as at some point they tried to convince a woman to have sex with them.

Informed consent is why this guy had all the fun he could dream of and never got AIDS, or knocked anyone up.

You know what? My wife, knowing what she knows about my past, loves to tease me.
She keeps saying, "One of these days, there will be a knock at the door and some kid of yours will be standing there."

"What a little Jeffery Junior?"

"Yup" ;) :lamo

----It's been twenty years, and at this point any little kid I may have spawned would have shown up and by now, they're a grown man, possibly with their own kids. Hasn't happened yet!!! :D

I wasn't talking about men getting drunk to give themselves permission to rape.

I was talking about people-in-general, and perhaps women-in-particular, getting drunk to give themselves an excuse for having sex with a stranger. It's actually a pretty common practice among certain groups.

But again, shouldnt the man be held responsible for having sex with someone they do not know well and who cannot give consent?

That was my question: a man and a woman, both rather drunk, have 'consensual' sex... but by some standards both are too drunk to give informed consent. Who "raped" who?
They both might be

I dont know why this is so hard to understand - do not have sex with people you do not know well or who are too drunk to be able to give consent.

And who is the rapist if BOTH are too drunk for informed consent?

I did an entire thread on this, asking if it was possible for two people to simultaneously rape each other.

I mean, can we just evolve to the point where everyone is gay and we procreate through science? Much better world that way.

Doesn't address rape and consent issue. Or STD's. Or really anything except unplanned pregnancy.

Right now it seems we have an entire generation that doesn't seem to know how remove the guilt from sex.

You know what? Those are some wise wise words. Just those right there. ^^^ ;)

I think I'm going to go dig up my old copy of "Portnoy's Complaint".
I need a good laugh.
