What's your opinion on Trump's controversial comments on Congress Women??

Opinion on Trump's comments on Congress Women

"who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe"

You tell me. (and try not to make **** up, eh?)

No, I know exactly who he was referring to, so I'm asking you since you don't agree with me. To which Congresswomen, plural, was he directing his comments?

If he was not referring to those four, Trump can clarify his comments at any time, and he has not. For some reason, you're making up excuses for Trump when he does not need your help. It's kind of amazing to watch really.

1. Trump is a racist.
2. That statement is not objectively racist. For example, it is completely plausible that Trump had heard at some time the data point that Ilhan Omar was born in Somalia, and is simply dumb enough to have applied "all these crazy new democrat women are therefore from somewhere not America" logic to the entire bunch. It's entirely possible that he took a look at them and said "Yup, all brown", but that is not required by his statement.

Never attribute blanketly to malice, that which is more explainable via stupidity.

It was actually incredibly stupid on two different levels - first, it's own, direct stupidity, and second, it sucked oxygen out of the fight between Pelosi her Democrats v AOC and her Twittercrats. When AOC's chief of staff took to describing Democrats - some of whom were African American - to 1940's Segregationists, the entire GOP should have just decided to shut up for a while, and let the Democrats suffer under the same bad-faith racial accusations and counter-accusations that they've slung at Republicans for decades.

But, Trump has a constitutional inability to shut up, even when it's in his own interest. So, instead, he said something incredibly stupid and offensive, re-united the warring sides of the Democrat party, and even probably helped immunize the same people he wanted to attack from actual criticism by those who would be most effective at it - other Democrats.

 intentions matter. A Hindu who uses a swastika intends something very different than a neo-Nazi who uses a swastika, and so their intention means that what they are saying with the same symbol is nonetheless different.

Not that this is some brilliant "chess move" by Trump- that probably isn't the design. But, what's resulted is that there is no light between the radicals and moderates in the Dem party, after Trump reunited them. Before, when they were fracturing, you could say that at least there are reasononed voiced who aren't far left and beholden to the Freshman radicals and their socialist agenda.
Now, they're standing as one, so where any Democrat goes, they go all. A vote for ANY Dem candidate is a vote for those 4 radicals and their identity politics, socialist, open-borders agenda.

She apologized.

Did trump???

Omar? Surely you don't think "sorry no sorry" is an actual apology to Jews?
I can find the exact quote, but no, Omar did not apologize for her offensive words. She "apologized" if her words hurt people. IOW, sorry you got offended but I'm not sorry for what I said.
That's what Pelosi has enabled.

BINGO!!!

And this is exactly what Trump was trying to do.

Trump makes unforced errors, more often than I'd like, but that "squad" presser yesterday was a dumpster fire of lies, conspiracy theories and identity politics. I mean, Omar was embarrassingly out of touch with reality and not that the MSM is reporting on this, but she and AOC were confronted by questions about the Tacoma, WA deadly Antifa attack on the ICE facility there, where the Antifa thug's manifesto echoed their rhetoric exactly. They refused to even respond. They refuse to address it. They won't answer to their part in ginning up the hatred towards ICE/LEOs to the point that they have soldiers willing to basically go on suicide missions.
But will that be a story today? Of course not.
(same thing for James T. Hodgkinson when he shot up a baseball field of Republicans)

Did trump do that?

Trump's comments are awesome. He told them to go back, fix their crappy countries of origin, then come back and show America how it's done.

Fix Somalia, then you're in a better position to tell America that it sucks. Better yet, get a white man on the squad to be 'inclusive' and 'diverse'.

The crappy country that 3 of the 4 of them came from is the USA. A better idea is to send Trump to Scotland.

That's just complete nonsense. Good people on the right and on the left are "standing as one" for what it means to be an American, a citizen of this country, and for the proposition that we are a free people and as such can disagree, and disagreeing doesn't mean that any of us, recent immigrants, sons or daughters of recent immigrants, descended from the founders, are not fully American. Whoever takes that oath or is born here is an AMERICAN.

That's all we're defending here.

And in this case, the person saying "Get out!" is our President. His duty is to represent all of us, including those with whom he disagrees. He's telling the country and the world that a condition of being a legitimate citizen in the eyes of POTUS and the country, because he should speak for all of us, is to support Trump. It's really unconscionable, and more than a little scary he's dragging all his followers into this ditch.

If you listen to what these women have said about Trump and America, over the past few months, I would say Trump still owes them a few more insults, just to make it even. Trump does not play by the left wing dual standards. The media tried to impose the dual standard, but Trump doubled down instead of cave. Trump is a counter puncher and does not attack unless attacked first.

The President has united the masses against the likes of those four inarticulate America hating miscreants who held that whine fest today.

When you tell minorities to go back where they came from despite having been born here, it's racist. It's like asking a minority where they're from, then when they say "America" you ask "No, where are you REALLY from??"

If Donald hates so much of how America was run up to this point why doesn't he go back to Germany, you know, where he came from.

I think you're missing my word-choice point.

So you admit it is bigotry of some sort then

I'm neither admitting nor denying anything; in fact, I haven't offered an opinion at all. I'm questioning whether the term "racist" is the correct word choice. And that is all.

Dont run. Is it bigotry or not?

Dont run. Is it bigotry or not?

I'm not running. And don't try to manipulate me. I've said that I haven't commented one way or another. Now I'm for sure not going to comment one way or another.

That's running.

And we all know why

No, sir, that's refusing to be goaded.

Its refusing to take a stand and hide behind a technicality.

Its bigotry that you defend and you know it

Ridiculous.

But it's true that I am one of only a few people on this forum who are not inclined to make **** up.

Perhaps you should read the tweets.

And there is nothing racist in that remark.

Since that's the nonsense everyone is all worked up about, that just means they are getting worked up over something that doesn't exist.

In other words...they are making **** up.

:lamo

He's united morons, racists, white nationalists and Trump fluffers, that's for sure. I hope they don't represent the "masses" but probably the majority of Trump voters.

President Donald Trump in his tweets has criticized the Democratic congresswomen by using racist language and asked them to go back to their broken and crime-infested countries. A President can talk like that. What do you feel about his comments?

The left have twisted his comments. Therefore, your post is totally irrelevant. How about a new poll with an honest discussion?

Perhaps you should read the tweets.

Read them? Hell, I'll quote them so YOU can read them. That way you won't have to depend on someone else to tell you what he said.

So interesting to see “Progressive” Democrat Congresswomen, who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe, the worst, most corrupt and inept anywhere in the world (if they even have a functioning government at all), now loudly......

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 14, 2019
….and viciously telling the people of the United States, the greatest and most powerful Nation on earth, how our government is to be run. Why don’t they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came. Then come back and show us how….

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 14, 2019

….it is done. These places need your help badly, you can’t leave fast enough. I’m sure that Nancy Pelosi would be very happy to quickly work out free travel arrangements!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 14, 2019

Now...read those words and tell me if Trump named anyone. If you are honest, you'll have to admit that he didn't. Therefore, you can only guess who he was talking about. Now...read it again and tell me if he gives you any clues. Again, if you are honest, you'll have to admit that he gave only two clues:

1. "Progressive" Democrat Congresswomen.

2. who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe.

So...now it's your chance to guess. Who do you think he was talking about who fits those clues? (Hint: You won't be able to come up with four names...if you are being honest.)

Then explain how a single word of it is racist.

The left has marginalized Trump comments in order to minimize the vile comments of these four....

I don't understand why it's "racist"--shouldn't it be "jingoistic" or "xenophobic" because race and national origin aren't the same?

Let's take a look at that.

xenophobia
noun

fear or hatred of strangers or foreigners

Synonyms and Near Synonyms of xenophobia
nativism, chauvinism, jingoism, nationalism, superpatriotism
prejudice, racialism, racism

So if our President, of a county made up nearly entirely of immigrants and/or their descendants, from 100s of countries, is merely expressing xenophobia, which is a synonym for racism as it has it, then what's the problem I suppose. He doesn't necessarily believe whites are superior to other races, POTUS just hates or fears foreigners and those descended from them.
