How is your gun control working in Chicago. They have strict gun control law. Yet every week end there is at least a couple dozen shootings, and several people killed.

How do you explain that?

They'll tell you that all the guns are coming in from Indiana, even though Indianapolis has a significantly lower murder rate than Chicago does, not to mention tons of other cities without strict gun laws.

What would Chicago's shooting figures look like if there was no gun control
What would Chicago's shooting figures look like if there were gun control throughout the USA and people could just drive out of town to get a gun ?

Too many guns already in circulation. Fewer guns, fewer gun deaths. Other countries have strict gun control yet fewer shootings. How do you explain that?

Indianapolis doesnt have a lower murder rate than Chicago.

Chicago, believe it or not, is safer than Indy

In fact, its violent crime rate overall is much worse.

Im not a gun control type, but obviously the answer is its not strict enough. They need to setup a police state and constantly monitor every person coming or going, do routine house searches, etc. Im not even sure that would get them to 0, but then you just add more police. Eventually youll get to the point where its impossible to get a gun. Thats limiting it to local action. If they can expand it globally then you need to ban manufacture and possession, and again institute a serious police state to enforce it. Maybe theres a way to control some element of propellent. Without propellent theres no firearms.
 
Illiois has less violent crime per capital that Arizona or Alaska which have the most liberal gun laws in the country.

Yeah, I have never felt freer than when cops pulled guns on me, naturally assuming I would be armed.

But you are right about culture. French eat snails. Americans eat guns. I don't understand either, tho with enough garlic, snails are tolerable.

How about all the people were all nice little boy's and girl's and did what they were ordered by their Emperor, Kings and Queens and other things. Orrr we aren't other countries.

Stricter? WTF? What induces you to believe that the people doing the killing are going to abide by these "stricter" gun laws? Maybe one [1] more gun law will solve the whole issue? I really hate to burst your (yes your not you're) bubble and dreams of everyone sitting around the campfire singing Kumbaya but it won't happen. So really what I'm saying is it wouldn't matter. Except more innocent people are killed. That's the effect of stricter gun laws.

Well, it looks like from those numbers, Chicagoans just have better aim.

Murder rates are a notoriously volatile stat to look at- it sure looks like Indy has more aggravated assault by a good margin- in other words- more assaults with firearms.

Where's your evidence that there's a correlation between gun laws and a rising death rate ?

Surely less guns = less gun use ?
