YAY!! Walmart steps up!

Gun bans significantly reduce the number of guns in the hands of good people wanting to remain heavily armed against heavily armed bad people who do not obey gun laws.

Yes, gun laws seek to let no-one be "heavily armed"

Sounds like excuse 2.2

Considering a Walmart was shot up by a guy with an AR style weapon and another moron decided to go for a stroll through one while carrying one i can understand their policy

Meanwhile 3,000 people will die on American freeways today and you dont give a ****. GOTTA GO 70MPH!!! CANT LOWER THE TOP SPEED TO 40MPH BECAUSE YOU DONT CARE YOU JUST THINK YOU DO.

...so the NRA condones tens of thousands of negligent discharge deaths and injuries, but doesn't condone accidental shootings by friends or family. What am I to make of that incoherent mess? What is the relevant distinction? Do you have any support for this claim of tens of thousands of deaths and injuries by negligent discharge?

The NRA doesn't condone violence or negligent discharges....yet it knows they happen.

So by opposing gun laws, the NRA is at best ambivalent towards them.

You fail again.

Actually highways are the safest roads there are.

Most of those road traffic deaths are caused on minor rods, often without markings.

"...states in the northern Rockies and plains, as well as the South, in general, have the most road fatalities as a percentage of all deaths and the highest fatality rates from road crashes per 100,000 population...."

Traffic deaths considerable compared with leading causes of death | University of Michigan News

The biggest change the US could make would be to drive on the left and replace traffic lights with round-a-bouts where possible.
But that is politically unacceptable.

Bull**** people die on the highway every single day and we refuse to lower the speed limit to 45 while you and everyone pretends to care but you dont realize that you dont.

but people like you want honest people to be freely victimized by armed criminals. While you may not actually intend that result, you certainly know that your gun ban schemes would create such an environment and you are certainly OK with that scenario

You are completely paranoid

So wanting your guns

= illegally wanting them

= actually wanting you to be the victim of armed criminals

The whole point is that the gun control lobby wants your guns so that neither you or ANYBODY is the victim of a shooting.

Paranoia such as yours fuels hatred and fear. No wonder you see the gun control lobby as your enemy

They want you to be victimized

= they want you dead.

Statistically highways are the safest roads in the USA.

"Ironically, the part of driving that people fear the most turns out to be the safest part. Federal transportation data have consistently shown that highways are considerably safer than other roads..."

The Irony of Road Fear - Freakonomics Freakonomics

BS you say. How about you quote figures of your own? The real killers are county roads that do have much lower speed limits, yet people still die by the thousand.

How about making people drive on the left and scrapping traffic lights for round-a-bouts? Or is that less politically acceptable for you ?

Well I guess that's progress. You've gone from claiming the NRA condones, to claiming the NRA knows that violence and negligent discharges happen.

That's a remarkable observation Richard. May I call you Dick?

Are you THAT desperate to score a point, you're completely to risk looking so stupid ?

There was a VOCAL backlash against Dicks from pro-gun groups...BUT despite this there was NO backlash at the sales till from customers. Indeed sales and profits are UP.

ie: people still remained customers and didn't boycott the store despite vocal outrage (backlash) from pro-gun groups when reacting to the store's announcement.

You fail again.

I thought you might be tired from your goalpost moves, but obviously not.

You claimed there was no backlash despite your own posted evidence saying there was.

Now you're like, "Oh yeah, there was a backlash. But it was a vocal backlash...."

And you also go on to some strawman crap. You see, I never claimed that they don't have any customers any longer. Obviously "people remained customers". However, there were boycotts and not all their previous customers remained with them.

Well I guess that's progress. You've gone from claiming the NRA condones, to claiming the NRA knows that violence and negligent discharges happen...

And that's at best ambivalence and at worst condoning the current casualty figures

...I thought you might be tired from your goalpost moves, but obviously not....

Aren't your arms tired yet from constantly moving the goalposts ?

...you claimed there was no backlash despite your own posted evidence saying there was....

No, Dick's Quarterly Statement claimed there was no backlash from gun owners from it's decision not to sell assault style guns - did you not read the link ?

The link said the when the decision had been announced (earlier this year), there had been a vocal reaction (backlash if you will) against the store, but this had not materialized at the cash register.

Is this too hard for you to understand ?

You fail again.

No, it's very easy to understand. There was simultaneously backlash and no backlash. Heh.

Hey....you know that violence and accidental discharges occur from time to time, right?

Lets see: Rich wants to ban all guns

and he claims I am paranoid.

No you asked what the point was and I told you. The vocal backlash against Dicks Sporting Goods promised when it announced it's decision to ban certain types of guns for sale, haven't materialized in their sales according to their own Quarterly Report.

Now cut and spin that for another worthless post if you can.

You fail again.

Let's see, Turtle thinks wanting to ban all guns means the gun control lobby want to:

1. Illegally ban them
2. Actually want you to be the victim of armed criminals

You made those claims up - you interpreted those as goals, when nothing of the sort was said, indeed the opposite was stated with regard to legality.

And you deny the claim that you're paranoid ?

In order to not illegally ban all guns you need to amend the Constitution. That’s 3/4 of the States.

And say what you want, if we got to that point, I’d be a rebel.

well smart people know that people who commit robbery rape, murder and traffic boatloads of narcotics aren't going to obey gun laws. Honest people who have never harmed anyone with the firearms they own, will probably obey even stupid gun laws. So while you may pray and hope that banning legal guns might keep drug gangs from getting guns, no one can deny that the people most likely to be disarmed are the people LEAST likely to cause others harm with their guns.

and guess what-I believe that is what people like you are actually pushing for-to disarm honest people while pretending it is going to prevent criminals from getting guns even though prohibition and the war on drugs has proven it will not.

I think I am safe to say that despite what their management claims, they have at least lost prospective customers. Their revenue increase might have been even more with those customers they lost.

Don't get angry. You're the one who made the stark claim that there was NO backlash. Only to be proven wrong by the very article you posted.

Unless you are willing to lower the max speed limit to 45 miles per hour, you dont care.

Unless you are willing to lower the max speed limit to 45 miles per hour, you dont care.

When I travelled to Pennsylvania I read of a deadly horse carriage on horse carriage accident. The fact is horse carriages are deadly enough yet we allow these murderous velocity vehicles that are designed for no other reason than to kill people.

So what if gun-owning right wing nut jobs form a 60k strong club. You think they would ensure a free state or be more likely to form an ultra RW terrorist group if ever they were given public freedom.

So what if left wing nut jobs form a gun banning, piss down their leg we are scared of guns club.

Antifa is staring at your second sentence and laughing. FYI we have public freedom now.

I doubt you will find many of us having a problem with that. The problem is with that group projecting.

"Dick's Sporting Goods has seen an 18% increase in its shares after reporting strong earnings, despite the backlash the company received for removing assault-style weapons from stores.

According to the company's press release, net sales for the third quarter of 2019 increased 5.6% to approximately $1.96billion. The company's operating earnings were up 33% in the third quarter.

'We saw increases in both average ticket and transactions, as well as growth across each of our three primary categories of hardlines, apparel and footwear"...."

And? Still matters not at all. I can order 10K rounds online for cheaper than ever.

By all means. Make the best excuse you can for why I should care. [emoji2369]

Aim Surplus is ten minutes from my home. I went up there tuesday to pick up a couple cases of 9mm. The regular show room was closed-they had set up sales area in the much bigger warehouse space to accommodate what they expect to be a very good day tomorrow. on that day ,2008, at their old location near AK Steel in Middletown, Ohio, I went up to pick up an order. They had 10 feet of pallets stacked up outside the warehouse or so. 762x39. ALL SOLD I was told. The manager noted that November 2008 was their BEST YEAR

It would result in Civil War 2.
