MADISON, N.C. — Remington, the gun maker beset by falling sales and lawsuits tied to the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre, has reached a financing deal that would allow it to continue operating as it seeks Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

The maker of the Bushmaster AR-15-style rifle used in the Connecticut shooting that left 20 first-graders and six educators dead in 2012, said Monday that the agreement with lenders will reduce its debt by about $700 million and add about $145 million in new capital.

Smith & Wesson, Sturm, Ruger, Sig Sauer, burn all those companies into the ground.

It baffles me how these CEO's and companies executives can sleep at night knowing their products is involved in the killing of innocent children and civilians. They literally have blood on their hands.

This is a great sign. The people are speaking. Good Americans don't want to give money to blood companies like Remington.

Next, Ford and Chevy!

You do understand that filing for bankruptcy enables them to stay in business, right?

Next, Ford and Chevy!

I 100% agree with you there. Without government intervention, those companies would be dead. You can't fight the inevitability of solar/electric vehicles.

Companies like Ford and GM are killing America with there gas guzzling vehicles.

In the next 20 years, they will lose at least 50% of market share of automobile sales.

I am pretty sure Ford and GM will be the ones making the electric/solar cars once the demand for them become great and the technology becomes cheaper.

They can't stay afloat because, in our capitalistic society, they cannot create a profit despite being popped up by the NRA and second amendment loons residing in Congress, the Senate, and courts.

I am an investor but certainly would never support the killing of innocent civilians and children. When companies like Remington do good, that means gun violence increases. Those guns circulate in the hands of criminals.

I doubt you would see his point because it went straight over your head. Do you realize how many automobile injuries and fatalities there are each year? Should we stop manufacturing cars because of those deaths and injuries.

Ford and GM tried to KILL the electric car.

Telsa has been the leader in bringing the demand for new technology.

In the next 20-30 years, we will transition in driverless vehicles which will dramatically decrease the number of fatalities on the road.

FYI driverless vehicles already exist. I have already seen them being tested on the road.

Remington filed for bankruptcy because their bread and butter, the R700, suffered from quality issues that cost a bunch of money to fix and pushed people away from buying them, and their entry level rifles like the 770 aren't are popular as their competition. Remington also has failed to take advantage of the modern sporting rifle market. Look at the financials of Palmetto State Armory.

If you invest in any car company then you are supporting the killing of innocent civilians and children.

Psst...as someone who works in the automotive industry, I can tell you that the big three are VERY interested in electric cars... ;)

I don't invest in car companies.

Tried is past tense.

How much do Teslas cost? An arm and a leg which way more expensive than what a lot of other cars go for.

Remington failed because nobody wants to be associated with guns involved in a damn school shooting.

Damn, Rucker, wake up!

The only reason why they support electric cars now is that Tesla changed the marketplace and brought consumer awareness.

Tesla has more market share of electric vehicles than GM or Ford. GM and Ford are old dinosaurs that will go extinct in the future.

Remington wasn't used in a school shooting; Bushmaster was. Bushmaster and Remington are both owned by the Freedom Group. Bushmaster is not in bankruptcy. Remington is.

I know way more about the firearms industry than you do.

You are wrong. Remington marketed the AR-15 assault rifle to Adam Lanza. They have blood on their hands and will legally be found in court as responsible.

Remington marketed guns in the hands of high-risk individuals. This is no different than cigarette companies marketing to children.

Remington and Bushmaster are not the same company.

Adam Lanza's mother bought the gun. Are you suggesting that middle aged single mom's are high-risk individuals, or that Bushmaster had a middle-aged mom marketing campaign?

1.That is a blatant lie. Remington did no such thing. No gun manufacture did.

2.The Ar-15 is not an assault rifle. An assault rifle is a select fire automatic rifle with a detachable magazine that fires an intermediate size cartridge. An AR-15 that you or I or anyone else can go to the store and buy is not a select fire automatic rifle.

3.Adam Lanza stole the firearms he used. He didn't buy anything.

The OP is abject stupidity

you're lying. Remington's flagship product is the Remington 700 which was for decades, the main choice for hunters. There have been quality issues with the 700 for decades and Savage makes a more accurate rifle for less money. Remington 1100s used to dominate skeet shooting but in the last 20 years, the far more reliable (no O rings to break) Beretta semi autos have far eclipsed the 1100 and its brother the 1187. Recently Remington introduced the Versamax semi auto that is an excellent shotgun (we have two) but that's limited market. Remington's attempt to make a semi auto self defense pistol sort of flopped at first.

I don't know anyone who would buy a Bushmaster and not because of Lanza. the SIG MCX-used by the guy who massacred all the gays in Orlando, used one and most dealers cannot keep those MCXs in stock since they are so well made

The guns shot themselves? Cool.

I think most 10 year old kids who shoot know more about the firearms industry given the blatant lies Bucky has told. Bushmaster quality did go down when the FG bought it-the original factory -now owned by WINDHAM WEAPONRY turns out excellent rifles. I have their top of the line "Proctor" rifle and its as good as my DD rifles
