Detroit Police Shoot Fleeing Black Suspect In The Back

That's what I surmise.

I'm not going to watch the video for the simple reason that I'm tired of watching death-by-police videos, but I don't mind taking the word of reliable sources that the suspect did fire shots. I do wonder about whether he pointed his gun in the general vicinity of the officers, but I'm guessing that he did.

I would rephrase this as "criminal-death-by-police-using-justified-force"

OK, yet refusing to see what actually happened may well lead to making incorrect guesses or taking the word of others who did so.

You think it's more important to expose myself to yet another police killing video, even if the officer is fully justified, just to get another fact right? As if there wasn't enough crap in 2020? :doh

Did I tell any lies? The kid DID put his hands up. You can see it in the video. The kid did run away and the kid was shot in the back.

Sure, the kid also pulled a gun out and shot at a cop's head before he got shot but if you want to post a propaganda story you need to avoid all that.

Such is the narrative that BLM is built on. They take one or two LEGITIMATE stories and then create a false narrative around a whole lot of ILLEGITIMATE stories for the sole purpose of furthering their cause. It's called "propaganda" and it's EXACTLY the crap that's leading to the destruction of this once fine nation.

For those of you that may have actually watched the video and listened to the Chief, he was hustling to get this video out because the FALSE narrative had already blown up on social media and there had already been protests and associated violence because of the social media narrative created and proliferated by PROPAGANDISTS. This idea that if someone says it on Twitter then it's got to be true needs to bee combated. Just search "Hakeem Littleton" on Twitter and then scroll back 20+ hours in the timeline. See for yourself how this cancer of social media created propaganda spurs these "protests".

People just plain aren't living in the real world these days and that's because they find it so easy to adopt whatever narrative fits their mood and happens to come across their feed.

Sort of like, "All the protesters in Minneapolis are now looting and destroying businesses." Protesters? Those are no longer protesters, they are criminals. Why did Fox News call them protesters? Propaganda.

Yeah, rightwing news never pushes propaganda. Please try to at least show less bias in your posts.

What is the point of this thread? This has nothing to do with cops killing innocent people. Do you think that all black people should be shot down because some are criminals.

All black people aren't being shot down . Look at the prison populations. Many end up there.

That's what I surmise.

LOL. Sure. Are you also tired of watching the millions of videos of peaceful police encounters, rescues, motorist assistance, wife beaters arrested, gang assaults, cops shot and injured, hostage situations, etc?

I'll bet you haven't watched anything that might disrupt the narrative .

but I don't mind taking the word of reliable sources that the suspect did fire shots. I do wonder about whether he pointed his gun in the general vicinity of the officers, but I'm guessing that he did.

He pointed it right at the officers head from about 3 feet away and pulled the trigger, but missed.

And of course you don't want to see it. Can't have any doubts about the liberal narrative.

Do you have the stats on the looters? Did any of them start as Floyd protesters then join in on the looting. Herd mentality. BLM graffiti is everywhere. Pumped up emotions, cause a little chaos
grab some free stuff, break some windows, torch police cars. The lower IQ ones go for the goods, the higher IQ ones protest march.

YouTube this is a hoot. Look at the chick with a sign "Justice for Floyd"

YouTube Protest to looters. The faces. Clean house and mop them up.

See, your post here is also propaganda.

When you have a couple of hundred peaceful protesters and thousands upon thousands of vandals burning and looting hundreds of buildings, spray painting everything in site and throwing bricks at the police you DO NOT have a peaceful protest. If you ignore all the violence and focus on the one peaceful guy then you're not telling the whole story either.

Much of the looting and destruction the first few nights was occurring on the opposite side of the city from the protests. After that, police involvement dropped, and it started occurring in more areas. But that is usually how those crimes occur because the police are otherwise occupied by protesters. It was intentional propaganda to call protesters looters and rioters.

Were there some protesters who joined? Sure, but those people were no longer lawfully protesting under the protection of our constitution. It was clearly intentional that people were being lumped into the same category to turn Fox News audiences against the protests. Based on many of the posts I have seen here, it worked pretty well. I see a lot of people here use the term "protesters" interchangeably when describing people who are looting, committing violent crimes, and vandalizing property. Having watched a few Fox News broadcasts during the past month, I can see why those people are confusing the two groups.

That is not my point. My point is that the term "protesters" is not interchangeable with looters, violent criminals, and/or vandals. Doing so undermines our constitution and should be viewed by everyone as a threat to our rights under that constitution. Fox News reporters were wrong to do so.

Detroit police release video of man firing at cops before officers fatally shoot him
“It’s simply a miracle he wasn’t struck in the head,” the Detroit police chief said of the officer, who was unharmed.

Detroit police release video of man firing at cops before officers fatally shoot him | Fox News

Newly released body and dash-camera footage by Detroit police in a deadly officer-involved shooting shows the suspect fired at police first before officers fatally shot him.

The death of 20-year-old Hakeem Littleton Friday sparked protests throughout the city, but Police Chief James Craig said the video puts rumors that Littleton was unarmed to bed.

Craig said at a news conference following the shooting that Littleton was no more than 3 feet away from officers when he suddenly pulled a semi-automatic pistol out of his pocket and began shooting at officers as they faced each other.

Officers were investigating a shooting that occurred at a block party during July Fourth weekend and arrested a separate man, Darnell Sylvester, who had an outstanding warrant against him for drug distribution.

The police chief is to be commended for getting this information on the streets within the hour and most likely averting another deadly riot.

I Googled this story and am getting conflicting stories, but there are reports that the suspect fired at the officer before the police shot him. If this is true, it is one of the very few times police should be authorized to use lethal force.

Sure, that’s why ****heads with hater boners like yours are still protesting this shooting. Not sure at all who you’re trying to fool.

Except that this will be included in the number of black people getting killed by police in your attempts to claim cops are racist murderers, won’t it?

this is b.s. no black man should have to fear his life just because hes breaking the law and fighting with police and hurting innocent people

Or shooting at them.

Which will make exactly zero difference to cop haters.
You seem awfully angry, and for some reason you are directing that anger at people who are showing the capability to distinguish between justified police homicide and unjustified police homicide. I do not understand the point you are trying to make with these posts. There are people who are unreasonably attacking police officers, but the people you are responding to do not appear to belong to that group.

Disingenuous lip service pisses me off and this guy will still be included as a victim of police violence. Shoot, people still protested this shooting.

The term “protest” is totally inconsistent with the violence we saw. Every single day we saw reasonably peaceful marches during the day devolve into riots at night. That distinction was regularly made in all the reporting I saw.

What is disingenuous about the posts you quoted? Each post pointed out that the criminal was armed and dangerous, so the police response was appropriate. This does not fall under the narrative of police officers committing violence against unarmed Black Americans. I understand your frustration and anger toward those who will use it toward that narrative, resulting in a false narrative. In fact, I am pissed that people do the same because it detracts from the real narrative. The issue is that those you are targeting for that behavior in this thread do not seem to agree with that false narrative either.

Given how many people have been tarring all cops over the action of a very few, this is actually funny.

I rarely watch Fox but what I saw here were faaaarrr too many refuse to condemn the rioting and burning and assaults on police. Many, many, more totally excused the lack of social distancing when, in February, that was treated as one of the worst crimes ever.

It was not in a few of the broadcasts I saw. The distinction also is not made in the headlines of many Fox News articles:
Portland police declare civil disturbance, 10 arrested, after night of looting, protesters injuring officers
Portland police say protests, riots have cost businesses some $23M
Trump on violent protesters: 'Where are the arrests and long term jail sentences?'
