Problem I have is, they are ASSUMING, race is the reason they weren't called back....that's an assumption based on the bias of the premise.....Unless they called each employer, and asked them, they don't know that...

Employers, well top employers, get thousand's of resumes for positions.....but we are to assume that one didnt' called back because of race? Maybe they filled the position on the 3rd resume?

havent seen one of the so called activists for this make a dedicated stand....and really give up anything for their position

Personally, I feel no guilt for being white. And I do want the non whites to be treated as all the whites of the nation get treated.
But the white nation isn't there yet. It's getting better.

tomorrow i want you to quit your job, and have your boss offer it to a person of color whether they have the necessary skills or not. Your car....i want you to donate it to the nearest shelter... but is has to cater to black families. Any money in banks, markets, investments....same thing...they need to be cashed in and sent to charities for black causes.

Then i want you to give your house and personal belongings away....thats it....give it ALL AWAY....take all that guilt and give it to someone else. By the end of tomorrow, you should be homeless and broke....and you can assuage your guilt. And then you can find other liberals/progressives who suffer the same guilt ridden fate, and help them do the same. I am sure you have a bunch of friends you can help find their way also.....

I figure it will take a week, maybe two...and all that guilt will magically disappear....you can earn it back (remember you are white, and have the privilege)

No, they're not assuming anything. What they've noted is when applicants scrub their resumes of information identifying themselves as a minority, they get more call backs, with otherwise identical qualifications.

And it's actually not how bias works to call the screener and ask them. Do you expect the person in charge of follow up interviews to say, "I don't like blacks, so I remove them from the pool!" Of course not - they're asked to make judgment calls on resumes and likely for unconscious reasons, favor white people. That's what "white privilege" is in a nutshell. It's doubtful the person making these calls is what we'd call a 'racist' or is aware they're doing it.

What's instructive is you call the idea that being white helps people in the jobs market "retarded" then dismiss with a hand wave the evidence proving you wrong, without apparently even reading the studies. You can remain intentionally ignorant of the evidence if you want, but it doesn't change it, make it go away.

The guy asks the lady, is there white privilege, her reponse was it's all around, when he asks her what it is, she is absolutely stunned, and asks him how he can't see it, and he says it doesn't exist and asks her again what it is, and she says the ability to be free of the social-economic struggles that white's don't have.....to hug their sons without being emasculated...

Think about that, this lady believes that white people don't struggle, and that white people emasculate black men who show affection towards their son....

I mean....really? Watch the video....and please provide an better argument if there is one....

I know that there was always a caste system in India and the lower castes had darker skin. But it was not because of their skin color -- the darker race had been conquered by the lighter race.

You should have done your ****ing homework before being a self-righteous ****.

Skin color is not the cause of black poverty. If it were, other ethnic groups with dark skin would have the same problem in this country as blacks. They do not. Do your homework and explain why.

I don't feel one iota of guilt for any privileges or advantages I've acquired. I do feel bad that I'm not financially secure for the rest of my life.

Equality does not mean "sameness". In an imperfect world, there will always be those less fortunate than others. That's a rule of nature, not man, and there's not much we can do about it since we're all responsible for our own existence, regardless of circumstances. We should try to enable and help each other more but that cannot be completely forced.
