Tell the truth Republicans. Did you guys really not know that Donald Trump with this corrupt?

:lamo
Reading this to myself.....you sound crazy. You really do.

Any time you people get smacked in the face with FACTS that you cannot refute and/or are too lazy to research...you respond with one of these idiotic all-encompassing rants filled with extreme generalizations, concrete ideations and fact-free "facts".

So you and your ilk will "go with" whatever the wingnut media puts out there for you to digest. No need to be coy about it. Just say it like it really is, ok?

For a lot of people, Trump support is a diagnosable mental disease. The above nonsense is just an example.

Occam's razor is a principle from philosophy. Suppose there exists two explanations for an occurrence. In this case the one that requires the least speculation is usually correct. Another way of saying it is that the more assumptions you have to make, the more unlikely an explanation.

Sounds like you need to avoid cable news, in general. Or, in particular, stop watching OPINION news shows and expecting to hear "just the facts". I don't know what conservatives (or conservative leaners) are so confused about this. But the major network news is still solidly in the tradition of Cronkite, Brinkley, Brokaw, Murrow, Reasoner, etc. You must not be watching it anymore.

You lost me with the "liberal media bias" nonsense. There is no "liberal bias" in the news. That's a conspiracy theory that has been discredited, repeatedly by peer-reviewed academic research. It's not a left-right issue. Facts don 't have biases. It's a a news-opinion news issue that you're talking about. In today's media world, there is "news" and there is "Opinion-news". This "evolution" was inevitable as the business model of for-profit news has become increasingly outdated.

But, regardless, any suggestion of equivalence between CNN and Fox is just absurd. No news organization is correct 100% of the time. But REAL news organizations correct their mistakes. FAKE NEWS organizations ignore them (or double/triple down on them). That's the difference between CNN and FoxNews. And we can get into a chapter/verse discussion about that (with examples) if you wish.

Asserting false equivalence is a rhetorical tactic that just doesn't not work in this instance.

I've never seen the media do an unbiased story on the 2nd Amendment. Somehow, they've managed to cover Webster's definition of "They" with respect to the LGBTQ+ community, but cannot manage to Google, "Assault Rifle," and figure out the fire selector switch. Their gun coverage doesn't ever promote dialogue that is centered.

During the Thai Cave Rescue, I appeared on camera as a member of the International Underwater Cave Rescue & Recovery team and a cave diving instructor, and specifically told them what language to use to get the story right, they didn't. I got in trouble for a 1 hour interview edited to 2 minutes which created drama and gave the credit to my US team and not the British rescue divers. No correction. My friend, Ken, was just on CNN for that boat fire. He's a famous instructor among the Beverley Hills crowd. CNN had headlined him as "Dive Boat Owner" speaks out. He owns a dive shop not a charter boat. He contacted them and they said, they'd correct it on the online. I know we are just small time nothings, but still. If you do an interview to help clear something up and they still air a story filled with buzz words and phrases for drama and ratings, I don't know. It's not hard to report accurately IMO.

I don't know if the media ever covered anything from your career, or a sport you do, but if so, you know they get simple stories wrong and we are supposed to believe that they've got the details of a complex political or diplomatic crisis correct. I thought Barack Obama was one of the most intellectual and polished Presidents we've ever had. He was "very Presidential" and looked great on camera. I thought his first term was praiseworthy. His second term needed a bit more scrutiny from the media. They not only handled him with kid gloves, they practically got down on their knees and deep throated him receiving a facial that still seems to be dripping from their chins. I remember Watergate as a kid. A sitting President went down for less than the media reports now. We know the media leans left. We easily see how they manipulate headlines. When Tulsi Gabbard ripped Kamala Harris in the debate, the headline was, "Long Shot Democrat ..." Why not "Tulsi Gabbard ...?" The coverage they give to candidates most certainly influences how they do in the polls.

If Obama's lawyer had a fake company to accept bribes to pay off porn stars, can you even imagine?

I think Michelle would have kicked Obama's ass if she found out he was doggin' ho's like Comrade Trump. Obama's last worry would be the Republicans.

By contrast, Melania would most likely just demand more money than she demanded the time before.

Therein lies the difference.

Apples and oranges.

I agree it's sufficiently crazy just as you write it, there is nothing more that needs to be added.

I accept your surrender.

:lamo
No you won't.

If that happens at some point in the future, you and I both know you'll just scream "fake news" and "left wing conspiracy" (etc. etc.)...followed immediately by "What about Obama?!!" and "But....Hillary!!!".

And you know it, don't you?

Yeah, there will be some fake news surrounding any indictment, but I will let it play out, unlike you who will feverishly jump to a guilty verdict.

I accept your surrender.
You reduced your own claim to absurdity, that's not a forfeiture, I'm simply thanking you for doing my work for me. Trump is a dumpster fire of a president.
You believe he's just as good as any other president, which is the dumbest thing I've seen today on the forum.

That's where it stands, that's not a forfeiture. You can't even get the ending right.

Thus, your lack of credibility.

TDS describes the delusional state of support and adoration of Trump's brainwashed acolytes.

I have no doubt that many of you will indeed "stand by that". Once a citizenry has been brainwashed by propaganda, it is all but impossible to deprogram them. Reminds me of the way German citizens in towns near Dachau, Weimar and Buchenwald were unbowed, unrepentant and "standing by" the propaganda of the Nazis....until they were rounded up and forced to march into (and through) the Death Camps that existed just outside their cities.

Every rational American can see that the corruption of this president is far-and-away beyond anything that has ever existed in our history. Those who cannot...at this point, at least....are beyond saving and cannot be reasoned with, I think.

I hereby invoke Godwin's law; therefore you lose this argument. Talk about brainwashed; your TDS is in full swing. Don't read much history, do you? Read up on the Grant administration some time.

...was this corrupt.

He's been the same way since the 1980s. All you had to do was open your eyes or do a little research to find out how the guy operates. None of this was a secret. Did you just ignore the truth because you wanted 1 or 2 things?

We have some pretty good economic numbers and Trump hasn't started or joined any new wars like his two recent predecessors so I say bring me some more corruption like that.

Or is this all about guaranteeing that the 1st president after the 1st minority president was someone who could be savage to your political opponents?

This particular whine is tired.

How would a candidate who kept a server in their basement with classified government documents, destroying 30,000 emails that were subpoenaed, rigged an election to defeat Sanders, was working behind the scenes to get the questions for debates, and sold uranium to Russia, wiped the servers to destroy evidence, had her husband meet with the head of the DOJ in a secret meeting on the tarmac ever pass an FBI investigation?

If she didn't than she'd be out of consideration also. Maybe 2016 would have been Sanders vs. Kasich, and we'd all be in a better place.

To suggest that Hillary is more crooked than the Donald is very naive. Donald was always a crook, surrounded himself with crooked lawyers and accountants, and bragged about it.

It's easy for you just to use those two catch-phrase words because it can simply remove you from any substantive defense or cognitive debate in defense of a lawless president, one that you're responsible for putting into office.

I don't think GDViking is a Trump fan....I think it was a joke....a rather good one.

TDS strikes again. Keep trying.

Nearly his entire cabinet is corrupt in one way or another.

When was the last time the first National Security Advisor had to resign in disgrace days after the inauguration and then later charged with a crime?

When was the last time a president named his National Security Advisor in spite of receiving information for the outgoing administration that the man was under investigation and not suitable for the position?

Think about how horrible our evangelicals, who put their faith in Donald Trump, look at this moment.

Many of them are just as corrupt.

Maybe next go around the Republicans will give a nod to Jerry Falwell, Jr. A true man of God, and a wonderful patriot.

I don't think GDViking is a Trump fan....I think it was a joke....a rather good one.

Yes I know, he's a dear because he's on 'our side' and yes we have sides now. The good team is anti-Trump and GDViking is on our team. I was referring to the 'you' in terms of Trumpers and Trumpettes and how the term 'fake news' just totally dissolves any constructive dialog.

Sorry GD if I have misrepresented you as one of the other team. :kissy:

Klattu coems in with a dodge as well. Ignores the question and asks a question of his own.
Has Trump been indicted (when everyone knows now a sitting POTUS cannot be indicted)?

That's KLATTU's dodge, sure, but then he appears to set out a standard that *cannot be met*.

Too funny.

Nancy Pelosi in an interview today stated that it is simply not true that a sitting POTUS cannot be indicted. That is a position that the current justice dept. takes, and since most Americans believe it is true, it has given Trump quite a bit of leeway.

Deflecting again? Can't seem keep up with the conversation? Are you having trouble?

The discussion is about why Hillary lost and why a reality TV host beat her.

Not my anger against her,
Not her testifying,
Not how Trump won't be interviewed by Mueller,
Not indicting Hillary,
Not opening a dozen investigations,
Not me obsessing over Hillary

I understand the need for you to get away from the obvious subject matter but try and keep up if you can.

Actually the discussion is "did you know Trump was corrupt? and did that matter to you? BUT HILLARY is not a good answer.

Yea, I can't believe how Trump extorted the President of the Ukraine by withholding US loan guarantees because their state prosecutor was investigating his son's business dealings and then bragged about it. Oh wait, that was Biden. Of course, Democrat crimes are all to be ignored. (See Clinton, Hillary)

There is absolutely no evidence that Biden did that....other than words out of Trump's mouth, and his lying sidekick Guiliani. The same people who claimed Obama was born in Kenya.

Did you believe that claim also?

Easy. No Democrat would ever do it and, if a Republican were to do so, all we'd hear is wailing about political payback, as though prosecuting crimes should have an ideological litmus test. That Biden committed a crime is obvious. What's amazing is that he's dumb enough (or brazen enough knowing he'll get away with it) to brag about it publicly. He also took his son along on AF2 to China where more "business dealings" occurred. One can only imagine what quid pro quo went down. It's as corrupt as it gets.

Do you imagine "business dealings" occur on trips Donald takes?

You immediately devolve to name calling. This has been getting the Democrats in trouble for years. It's not nice when you call your opponent names. It's counterproductive when you slap pejorative labels on your own voters.

100 years ago most cities would have at least one paper backing each party. Radio was brand new and TV existed only in a lab.

Trump has a gift for it. Is Pocahontas one of his?

Were you under the impression I thought Trump was nice? He's not. You push and he pushes back.

So you consider it "not nice" but you admire his skill? Quite an interesting stance.

I was never a Trump fan. During the primaries I was anti-Trump, though I expected him to fade. In the general it was a choice of bad Trump and worse Clinton.

Fortunately, he has done a very good job. The fact that he has a chip on his shoulder has stood him well in Washington. GW Bush was a nice guy. Look what happened to him.

Whether or not he has done a good job is a matter of debate, and will be finally settled next election go around. It is quite easy to say he has done a terrible job, and if he's not out of there soon, we may never recover. I imagine he will be considered the worst president the nation ever had. Maybe we'll remember him as the one with the gold chip on his shoulder.

I can't imagine what you are referring to about GB Bush. What happened to him?
