Young People Really Are Stupid

Believe what you like but you can be sure that climate change alarmism is not based on good science.

It isn't based on your preferred "creation science". You likely wouldn't understand it because the facts weren't learned by praying or lying to people.

What post-K-12 education do you have?

I'm not convinced that many folk understand what "good science" is, lol.

AGW is nothing more than terrified ignorance on steroids. It does not matter what Trump thinks about it.

If Trump were still a reality TV personality, then it wouldn't matter what he thinks, just as it doesn't matter what you think about the subject. Since he's been elected president, then his false beliefs tend to have consequences.

I don't have much faith in science lately. There's too much money at stake for a bias not to be considered. Is there any science organizations that are not receiving government funds that have come to the conclusion that the warming of the planet is man-made?

Of course. The Union of Concerned Scientists does not get government money.

They say:

Global warming is already having significant and harmful effects on our communities, our health, and our climate. Sea level rise is accelerating. The number of large wildfires is growing. Dangerous heat waves are becoming more common. Extreme storm events are increasing in many areas. More severe droughts are occurring in others.

We've got young adults from Canada, Sweden, Germany, etc all pledging to not have children unless their countries take serious action on climate change. LOL. I mean we're talking about Canada, Sweden, Germany, and other tree hugger countries who were part of the Paris Accord. What in the hell is it these people want? I am personally glad that these idiots aren't going to be passing on their DNA. Let their breed die out.

No future, no children: Teens refusing to have kids until there'''s action on climate change

Yes, thinking about the future and the consequences of one's own actions must be a foreign concept to you. You sound like a Boomer.

Im glad they wont be reproducing

Don’t worry! Dispite all the declarations, I’m sure most of them will get around to it in the customary manner.

Fortunately, science is not some religious fairy tale that demands faith so people don't ask questions. Your faith is irrelevant to reality.

If there were only one study suggesting climate change was real and it was backed by a solar and wind company and was published on a blog and not peer reviewed, fine, I might agree with you. But the evidence is so overwhelming and has been so thoroughly analyzed and debated by people a lot smarter than you or I, that you might as well be saying you don't have faith in gravity.

The thing that bothers me the most about modern day republicans is the gleeful rejection of reality and evidence. Don't waste your breath saying you don't have faith in somethings that's obviously real and accepted.

Are you one of those that uses the "climate change" label as a scare tactic? refine your label and leave out the human element and you might have a case. Btw, you do realize that the AOC Green Deal has little to do with climate change, right?

Perhaps the left has figured out how to do what the right has been fumbling for years---how to make abstinence work :2razz:

Firstly, I didn't say anything about the GND. No idea why you're bringing it up.

And secondly, scare tactic? Are you serious? I am baffled how on Earth saying faith is irrelevant to scientific fact is a scare tactic.

Let's rehash this more simply:

Me: Science is based in reality, not faith.
You: Waaa you're trying to scare me!!#!@!

People on the right have such distain for scientists because they're smart. They project this insecurity by calling them elitist. But the fact that you're insecure doesn't change anything about scientific evidence and truth. The peer review system in scientific journals is extremely rigorous. It's utterly absurd to me that something as incontrovertible as science is considered by some to be a political weapon.

These scientists didn't go through several years of schooling and incredibly hard work for the purpose of making you scared and insecure.

You're calling them idiots, and then asking what they want.... hmmmmm

Why do I bring up GND? Isn't it obvious? AOC's GND is presented as a fix for climate change. In reality (as her head poo baa stated, it's more of a social change program). You buy the human caused climate change theory, then you just have to buy the AOC spiel. If you don't, then your whole Progressive/Socialist mantra goes poof.

Children just don't have the ability to make good choices. They make decisions on feelings about what they feel passionate about and how they wish it was. Until a person is in their mid twenties the part of the brain that is responsible for decision making is not fully formed and therefore you get poor decisions.

This is irrelevant to my original point, but I'll address it anyway.

You said, "AOC's GND is presented as a fix for climate change". No. It. Is. Not. Have you read the GND? It's extremely short. Only 14 pages, and the font's pretty large. Now why would a massive "social change program" with huge implications for every aspect of our society be only 14 pages long, you ask? Because it's not a program at all. The GND does two things:

1) It defines the problem of climate change.

2) It lays out a GOAL for addressing it. Not a "fix." A goal for where we should get by 2020. AOC has made it abundantly clear that this goal is something we should strive towards and likely won't be achieved in such a short timeframe.

But again, your explanation of the "obvious" is still not relevant to what I was saying. I made a very clear and simple point: science is based in fact, not faith. And there is OVERWHELMING proof that climate change is rapidly accelerating because of humans. The fact that this is politicized is nonsense. It just is.

"You buy the human caused climate change theory, then you just have to buy the AOC spiel. If you don't, then your whole Progressive/Socialist mantra goes poof."

I literally have no idea what you're trying to convey. What does scientific fact have to do with a "socialist mantra"?

P.S. What the hell is a poo baa?

Religious fundamentalists calling scientific fact delusional is the height of hypocrisy and arrogance. the fact that you refuse to read and follow the facts or their conclusions is not their fault.

I agree with the scientists who make the most sense, not the ones who seem to be promoting a narrative just because the narrative seems so popular among so many leftists.

There is a lot of division in America today. Of course there were tens of millions who supported Trump and tens of millions who supported Hillary. Today there are those who think Trump has false beliefs and there are those who think his critics have false beliefs. I tend to think Trump is more often right than are his critics.

As a boomer myself, I have to say you have a point. Donald Trump makes it every day,

Teens refusing to have kids

Then their countries will be forced to do more immigration from 3rd world **** holes opening up a whole another can of worms

So in that case why do 'Christians' insist on brainwashing their kids into believing Bronze Age fairy tales when they are young and impressionable? Wouldn't you agree that it's far more responsible to allow them to make their own rational decisions on faith when they are mature enough to do so?
