Miss Michigan stripped of title for being a Conservative.

That seems unlikely given how disproportionately Blacks are in prison. I suggest you watch the documentary film 13th about the history of law enforcement's war on blacks in general. The police locked up freedmen for the purpose of prison labor.

But when it comes to protecting them, who really cares?

Exactly! That's why laws have been passed that prohibit black folks from protecting themselves.

How many black folks are in prison for illegal possession of a firearm and nothing else?

Shaneen Allen is a good example:

Pa. mother with concealed carry permit faces 3 years for N.J. traffic stop - Washington Times

If that lengthily irrelevancy is a retraction, I accept.

In any event it is my view that she was treated unfairly, discriminated against because of her conservative views, and that such that is reprehensible. Magaphobia has infected the brain matter of a good part of the country, and it has led to unnecessary mistreatment of individuals who have done nothing wrong.

I have more than enough information to make a judgement, as you do. The only difference is that you don't seem to have any particular ethical principle when it comes to uncalled for shabby treatment of Trump supporters.

That last paragraph is pure baloney because I did not know she was a Trump supporter until now that you mentioned it. I will have you know that my entire life, and especially now near the end of my life and have nothing to gain, that principles, ethics, morals, and humanity is what drives me. I have one big judge left to face in my life and that is God and the only thing he judges people on are ethics, morals, principles, and humanity. I live and will die by them and nothing else.

That comment along disqualifies you with me as a good judge of what is right and wrong. You have no valid reason for making the comment other than to try to reduce me to being exclusively a Trump detractor. I accuse Trump of exactly the same thing (and many others) of a lack of ethics and for you to accuse me and not realize that Trump is the king as far as a lack of ethics is hypocritical of you

End of story and end of comment.

No but the fact that you can't give a rational response suggests that your argument has been refuted.

If you still insist on your argument whenver you complain about terrorism I'll be happy to remind you that Whites kill far far more Whites than terrorists kill Whites. I'll suggest that you focus on fixing the White on White murders instead of worrying about the insignificant deaths from terrorists. See how that works?

I've already given you a rational response. You ignored it, because you can come up with an intelligent argument.

No, she’s being prosecuted because she lied about being forced to wear a hijab.

This was her tweet:
“So you’re telling me that it’s now just a fashion accessory and not a religious thing? Or are you just trying to get women used to being oppressed under Islam?””

A female student who was manning the booth responded:
“I invited you to try one on and you said ‘no thank you’…You didn’t take the time to even ask questions or try to understand what Hijab is. That’s ignorant of you. You literally sprinted after taking the photos. That’s pathetic.”

Zhu’s response:
“What’s “insensitive” is that women in the middle east are getting STONED TO DEATH for refusing to obey their husband’s orders to wear hijabs.
A muslim woman tried to FORCIBLY put a hijab on my head without my permission. […] Are the people in MWA implying that they advocate for the punishment of women who refuse to wear a hijab?”

Come on. It’s clear Zhu was there purposely to pick a fight. She walks up to the booth which says “try on a hijab”, gets invited to try one on, and then starts talking about being FORCED to wear a hijab.

This doesn’t sound even a little bit fishy?

What does that have to do with the beauty contest decision that it is insensitive to state that there are women forced to wear a hijab?

What does being a conservative have to do with this?

Not at all, but we didn't see the huge rates of single parent black homes before the "Great Society" nonsense or high rates of blacks killing blacks, either

Post hoc ergo propter hoc.

I've already given you a rational response. You ignored it, because you can come up with an intelligent argument.

Where did you give a rational response? Feel free to quote yourself.

I didn't respond to your question because it's off topic. It's not about Miss Michigan and what she said. I understand you want to change the subject because you can't answer my question. But I will answer your question nonetheless if you answer mine.

Let me try again:

Do you agree that White people should not complain about terrorism because far far more White people are killed by other White people than by terrorists?

I'm using Miss Michigan's logic. Do you agree with her reasoning?

irrelevant

What's irrelevant?

I agreed with you that individuals are mostly responsible for their own destiny. So I asked you why you're pushing ethnic statistics? Why are you defending someone telling an entire ethnic group that they shouldn't care about police (government) corruption and abuse because of some ethnic statistic?

Nice job of moving the goalposts. :lamo

No, she’s being prosecuted because she lied about being forced to wear a hijab.

Firstly, I think apdst and you mean "persecuted" not "prosecuted". Law enforcement is not charging anyone with breaking the law.

Second, your chronology is a conflation of responses to two different exchanges with two different parties, and the communications selectively edited to be misleading. Here is the correction:

DAY ONE - February 1st, 1018

This was her tweet for her political followers: There’s a “try a hijab on” booth at my college campus. So you’re telling me that it’s now just a fashion accessory and not a religious thing? Or are you just trying to get women used to being oppressed under Islam?
— Kathy Zhu (@PoliticalKathy) February 1, 2018

Rayyan Sukkarieh, a Lebanese-American Muslim, and booth proprietor replied with a cascade of fiery tweets (the first tweet being the most reasonable):

I’m in the back of the first pic (w/o my consent lol) and I invited you to try one on and you said “no thank you.” You didn’t take the time to even ask questions or try to understand what Hijab is. That’s ignorant of you. You literally sprinted after taking the photos. Pathetic. https://twitter.com/politicalkathy/status/959114087421661191
— ريان (@anotherarabb) February 1, 2018

BUT THEN MORE to escalate it:

TWITTER DO YOUR THING
Let’s get this girl expelled. Email st_condu@ucf.edu (UCF OFFICE OF STUDENT CONDUCT) and send them Kathy’s tweet, including the photos in her thread. Ignorance will not be tolerated on my campus.

— ريان (@anotherarabb) February 1, 2018

AND MORE:

KATHY should be EXPELLED b/c she is putting Muslim students, especially those wearing hijab, in danger with her tweets. She’s illiciting violence and is a danger to those on campus that are easily identifiable as Muslim. She goes against UCF’s values of integrity and community. https://twitter.com/um_imlace/status/959197197853184000
— im still here (@anotherarabb) February 1, 2018

AND FINALLY:

Thank you SO SO much to everyone’s sweet replies and kind messages. It’s so heart warming to have all this support. People can be so hateful and uneducated, it’s so sad. Glad we’re showing these bums that ignorance is unacceptable and disgusting.
— ريان (@anotherarabb) February 1, 2018

And, by the way, the replies to Sukk. not so heart warming (scathing in fact)...and Kathy Zhu seems to have waited till Day TWO to respond (not included for length).

Come on. It’s clear Zhu was there purposely to pick a fight. She walks up to the booth which says “try on a hijab”, gets invited to try one on, and then starts talking about being FORCED to wear a hijab.

This doesn’t sound even a little bit fishy?

Oh there is a fishy smell, but not from Zhu. Kathy Zhu was there because she is interested in politics and often expresses her opinion as "PoliticalKathy" to her like minded twitter group. How Sukkarieh became aware of Zhu's comment (unlikely she was a PoliticalKathy follower) isn't clear. None the less, once Sukk got a bone in her SJW mouth she was the the person determined to create an internet meltdown and massive self-righteous controversy - not by disagreeing in a single tweet but through a cascade of threatening hostile posts calling on her mob to destroy her education at UCF through expulsion, accuse her of inciting violence, telling her she won't tolerate these opinions on "my campus", and name calling "these bums".

Finally, please note that the last paragraph quoting Zhu was NOT in this conversation of 2018. You extracted that from an angry letter Zhu wrote about a year and half later (recently) after she had already been terminated as Ms. Michigan. "Then starts talking about" had nothing to do with her star chamber trial and metaphorical execution.

So, you not only didn't know that didn't say things in spite of the rule, but now you tell us that you weren't even aware of a critical part of the controversy - political discrimination?

Who should be disqualified from making any moral judgement on this issue, again?

They want people to "try a hijab" to foster mutual understanding. Her response is an attack on Islam. She ends up sounding like an Islamaphobe. Jews also wear head coverings. Sikhs wear head coverings. Are they oppressed too?

It makes sense that the pageant doesn't want her representing them. I don't get the controversy.

Nice job of moving the goalposts. :lamo

If I ever hear you complaining about terrorism I'll be sure to remind you that you need to fix the far more prevalent White on White violence first.

I was not aware it was a political controversy. I thought is was an OP about a beauty queen that got disqualified because she said racist remarks and based on the racists remarks people were chiming in. I had no idea that it was political that had anything to do with Trump.

If you look back on all my posts on this OP, I was commenting on the legality of the disqualification. At no point did I chime in with anything political, just racial.

Again, that last paragraph of yours is way off the charts. At no time did I make any moral comments on this issue. I commented exclusively on the legality of the issue.

You really need to go and see someone about your ability to interpret words without putting your own twist on them. That is a sickness for which you need medicine or a psychiatrist.

Gosh, I'm sure the millions of Muslim women forced to cover themselves under threat of physical violence and imprisonment appreciate your 'understanding'.

I object to using race as a factor in admissions. Period. One can work harder and be a better student, or a better athlete, They see the entrance requirements, and they strive to meet them. They cannot overcome race if that is a factor.

What exactly are the academic requirements for a nationally ranked tennis player? Does that player get a bump? My point has been that there are many personal accomplishments that could and should be recognized.

What about the orthodox Jewish women or Sikh women? Your clothing is purely cultural. Wearing a headscarf is hardly oppression.

And where is the evidence of mutual understanding by Ms. Sukkarieh? She immediately determines that Ms. Zhu is motivated by hatred and apparently wishes her expelled.

Hmm, so your title says "for being conservative", but the article says "for racist tweets"...

are you admitting that conservatives are generally racist?

DAMMIT nekrodev... You are ruining one of the million "We conservatives are such victims!!1!!!!" threads.

 SPLC.

Howsabout I go find something from Alex Jones, so that our sources will be equally credible? :)

 False equivalence to try and delegitimize SPLC

Head coverings such as the above- as well as the hijab- are theological in nature. Hence Ms. Zhu's confusion over the cavalier treatment of the hijab by Ms. Sukkarieh.
