No, it's not. Society has acceptable standards and pajamas don't match them. Furthermore, pajamas are inappropriate in other ways as well.OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!
It is the exact opposite.
It is a public school and they have the right to determine who comes into the school during the school day. This is NOT me imposing my beliefs on others, but you imposing yours on others. It is you trying to impose your beliefs on others.
You are trying to tell schools they do not have the right/ability to enforce decency standards. That is YOU imposing your beliefs on others.Anything else is YOU imposing your will on me.
You are free to be who you want at your home. Don't wear any clothes there if you don't want. But you don't get to tell schools how they conduct their business during school hours.Taking away my freedom to be who and how I am.
This could very well be the stupidest comment I've ever read. A) Trump has nothing to do with this at all and B) If you think I'm a Trump supporter then you have not read any post I've created outside this thread.Trump is a cancer is the bottom line here.
This is a really silly post.
The only difference between pajamas, a suit or jeans is what society has come to accept.
There is no right or wrong.
You are simply trying to impose your definition of what a societal norm should be.
Can't you see this?

I have long held the opinion that there should be a dress code for posting on DP. We have our standards, don't we? First to ban would be any and all text on clothing. The epitome of vulgarity.
Perhaps all posts should be accompanied by a certificate from two witnesses stating that the poster was modestly attired at the time of typing.
That the reasons for appropriate dress in public has to be explained to you is a sad commentary of how far standards of public etiquette have declined.

Societal norms exist for a reason. If people don't like it, they can home school their kids. If they don't like it in the workplace, they can start their own business or go cut lawns. Of course there are rights and wrongs, in this as in everything. That type of thinking only leads to chaos because it starts to suffuse every sphere of life. It's why we have homeless people all over the street in places like SF fouling their surroundings and making life unbearable for the citizens there. It's a stark example of the concept of "no right or wrong" in actual practice.
When did you become the determiner of what is/isn’t logical? The emotional responses throughout this thread have been mostly yours. You try to explain it to yourself, you are the one that champions it, illogically. From pure emotion.
Sorry, you don’t get the credit for originating the principle you’re parroting. You may have an opinion in the absence of fact, not in conflict with it. You may quote me.
You don't have to "get all dolled up", but have some respect for your offspring and get out of your pajamas.

Now don't misunderstand, I have never and would never leave my home in my pajamas. None of my kids ever have or ever would.
That said, WTF do you care if some people do?
To me it represents sloth and laziness. If that is how some folks want to be perceived, I am glad. I know I have nothing in common with them.
I am sure they all watch TV on a weekday afternoons.
But to ban how someone dresses?
Worse.
:lamoTrump has empowered deplorables. He has everything to do with all you coming out of the closet, as if your behaviors are acceptable.
They can do whatever they want in their home, around their friends and family, but have some respect, if for no one else then for yourself. First Walmart, now schools?
Enforcing a dress code is not a hindrance, it is an appeal to their decency as humans who happen to live in society. They should be thankful that someone has enough cojones to remind them what they are.

This is the most ridiculous thing I've read this week and that was a high bar to clear. Congrats!
Are you suggesting that Trumpets were not ashamed of their vulgar behaviors and beliefs before TRump came along?
Of course they were, rightly so.
They were even ashamed to admit that they were going to vote for Trump.
Now they are all out in the open as if those behaviors are now somehow acceptable.
disgusting
asking parents to be acceptable in public is difficult with inner city schools, where parents are the problem to start with. If we would simply cut off funds for welfare recipients who are able to work it would fix this monstrous problem. It is not "kind" to continue to allow black inner city communities to fail due to idiotic government policies
omfg...
