More hysteria..."BIGGEST STORM EVER!"

Re: More hysteria..."BIGGEST STORM EVER!"

costliest_hurricanes_480.png

Yep...the asinine then-governor (Landrieu) of Louisiana refusing to deploy the National Guard ahead of time (despite the request of the POTUS a WEEK BEFORE KATRIAN HIT), her complicity in the MIS-APPROPRIATION of Federal funds sent to do ROUTINE MAINTENANCE on the 9th Street levee, for other "pet projects", and the equally asinine, since convicted felon, then-mayor of NOLA (Nagin) REFUSING to order and evacuation , DESPITE NUMEROUS REQUESTS to do so before the storm hit, and having the us of the thousands of municipal buses to accomplish it, made Katrina the catastrophe it was.

Naturally... the they, the Fake News, and the rest of the left..."BLAMED BUSH", when the results of their IDOCY came to pass.....

And so it continues...the raw hysteria about an occurrence which is anything but unique. "President Trump is complicit!"...lol

Are you people going to continue to believe this man made global climate change narrative after yet again being so wrong?

Isn't the "warmer ocean temperatures" supposed to strengthen a storm? What is the excuse this time?

Another dishonest righty posting idiocy and as usual completely making up what people are angry about. The response to PR by Trump was pathetic. We know why, Red state Florida and Texas got great response, but not those brown skinned, dem supporting puerto ricans,. Thats' how he rolls, he's done that time and time again. He threw paper towels at them.

Of course, Trump supporters can't actually defend his ****ty actions, they just have to lie and make up bogus things people aren't blaming Trump for. Christ, who else is tired of arguing with absolute ****ing moron right wingers all the time, they are such lowlifes

He did everything he could. He had NO CONTROL over corrupt (DEMOCRAT) Puerto Rican pols, refusing to distribute, stealing/hoarding, and giving to their cronies, the AID sent their IMMEDIATELY by the Fed.

Keep trying to pretend that that is not what happened, and is STILL HAPPENING.

Cheney drained money out of FEMA to pay for stuff he wanted to do. Brownie was a 3rd rate political hack. So there is plenty of blame to go around.

One of those things is the Army Corp of Engineers. They stopped the flooding, but the increased flow eroded away a natural barrier to flooding.

Just admit that your side is wrong.

Trump obviously inherited the nasty weather from Obama, just as Trump "inherited" a booming economy (but Obama said the bad economy was the "new normal." And I don't recall Hillary running on a "booming economy.")

Or could it be that the oceans were receding for eight years, just as the great Barack said they would, and Trump somehow brought it all back in less than nine months?

After 8 years of no hurricanes...

COMPLETE LIE. The VP cannot take any funding from ANYTHING. Just makeup whatever you need to be true.

FEMA trailers SAT UNUSED there. The money for the 9th street levee was "DIVERTED" by the Landrieu Adm., who refused to deploy the National Guard ahead of time, and Nagin refused to order an evacuation = why so many people DIED.

And then, of course, "BLAME BUSH".

Saw a person on the news tonight...exact words..."this is exactly like what they said it would be"...pretty much says it all...

I have friends who live in Wilmington who are up here right now...they're afraid they will be going home to nothing when the time comes...

Cheney sucked money out of FEMA for his war on terror.

"In addition, the White House has pushed for privatization of essential government services, including disaster management, and merged FEMA into the Department of Homeland Security, where natural disaster programs are often sidelined by counter-terrorism programs.'

" But since 2001, key federal disaster mitigation programs, developed over many years, have been slashed and tossed aside. FEMA's Project Impact, a model mitigation program created by the Clinton administration, has been canceled outright. Federal funding of post-disaster mitigation efforts designed to protect people and property from the next disaster has been cut in half..."

And let's not forget Brownie, you want to argue he was any good?

" FEMA Director Michael Brown, who resigned over his handling of the response, later told a group of students that the White House only wanted to federalize the response in Louisiana, where the governor was a Democrat, and not in Republican-led Mississippi in order to embarrass Louisiana officials. Brown said the White House believed they had a chance to “rub [Kathleen Blanco’s] nose in it.”

And if that's not enough, the White House, before Katrina, was saying they were getting out of the disaster business. That was going to be a local responsibility...

So it hasn't even made landfall and you've already decided it's a nothing burger?

Here's a little science for you:

Very strong hurricanes can actually weaken themselves with the strongest winds by pulling up deeper colder water which actually works against them.

We should put you in the landfall area and see what you think of what a lack of a big deal this storm is, and it's the rain that is the biggie with this storm. Potentially 40 inches of rain is nothing to sneeze at.

sWrWrIo.jpg

40" of rain is not uncommon for hurricanes, tropical storms, and tropical depressions. Slow moving or stalled any of these can dump a lot more than 40" of rain. Luckily it is rare that it happens over populated areas. Hurricanes have bobbed around in the gulf or anywhere else that has warm waters all the time and rain 24/7 until they finally lose their source of energy and water. The real danger is that this is happening over a mountainous terrain. Just be thankful this is not happening over a major city such as the DC Baltimore area. Well maybe that is what we need to get congress to start fixing infrastructure before they hit somewhere like New Orleans.
