Trump's lies betray his desperation

Question is:

How will the left deal, cope with the catastophic collapse of the entire Russian Collusion/Obstruction hoax? We all know the fat lady was let off the hook by a corrupt Comey and cohorts...so that means future assured indictments of her and him. McCabe is already in the hot seat. Clapper, Brennan, Brennan, Strzok, Rice soon after...

Cant wait til they ask the totally righteous underlying question: What did slenderman know and when did he know it?. That will achieve classic American Justice, will be in the history books as the greatest scandal ever. Anywhere.

You go large you go down large. Gonna be loving watching that over and over again on youtube...will be better than election night 2016. The sheer amount of bricks dropped that night could fertilize a green revolution in North Korea for the foreseeable future.

Here's the thing. We refuse to be your strawman. It's not our investigation. Mueller is a Republican. Comey, too. Rosenstein, also. Sessions. Burr. Nunes. Even the Fisa judges. We didn't conduct any investigations. We are out of power. Harmless. All of this is a gop civil war.

That won't end well for conservatism.

I guess you are correct, I could well have described it as the total collapse of the establishment grip on DC power. At least the GOP has those willing to toss out the scoundrels.

Wont end well for conservatism? What in recent American political history would lead one to that provably imbecillic conclusion. Would it be the stunning election of our president Donald J Trump? Or maybe both house ofthe national congress, a conservative going more and more consevative supreme court? On state levels it isnt even close either in governorships and state houses of the legislature.

With the total hypocritical and wrong stances on so many issues all three left wing national institutions, the MSM, Hollywood and academia has been exposed as being on the wrong side of history. No longer trustworthy by vast majorities American citizens.

The Blue Wave seems to be waving the Dems goodbye. Wrong, way wrong on immigration, taxes, jobs, MS 13...shown to be weak kneed on fair trade, unwilling to stand up for America, all too willing to criticize, apologize and take that weak knee to ground, grinding on our honor and traditions.

The muel, comedy, rosensteinks, burr in his butt, secessions----all establishment, not conservatives...all losers. Yes, there is a civil war, establishment of both parties against the conservative anti-establishment.

I dont see the majority voting establishment, we arent suicidal.

Mueller’s authority is limited in jurisdiction to investigate and prosecute federal crimes, for which the president can pardon anyone, like if Pence ends up as president he could pardon Trump. Mueller does also have additional jurisdiction for which he must ask the AG. It’s a long shot, but maybe Mueller finds something that he can refer to a state jurisdiction for prosecution, such as NY. The president has no pardon authority over any state. Just the governor.
I don't think the bolded is a longshot at all, to be honest.

They pleaded guilty to perjury traps from an overzealous investigator desperate to keep his investigation relevant.
"Perjury Trap" has a specific legal definition, and is illegal.

However lying to a federal prosecutor, anytime, is a felony. And for good reason.

The rule of law does not exist so long as false statements to law enforcement, obstruction of justice, witness tampering, perjury, and contempt are tolerated. They are enforced strictly to ensure a legitimate process and outcome.

I wish I could claim this last paragraph I italicized as mine, but I found it randomly somewhere I don't remember. But it's good enough, that I placed it here.

So far to me, this investigation leads to even more questions concerning illegal behavior by the FBI and DOJ.

I'm good with whatever Mueller finds, but the sad part is that liberal hacks won't even entertain the possibility of corruption within the Obama administration. Much like the right wing loonies and their conspiracies, the left refuses to believe that any misbehavior could have went on under the Obama administration.

I want the name of the incompetent FISA judge who made his/her decision after reading a unverified/uncorroborated dossier, and granted permission for a FBI sting under the false pretense of national security. And, just to flip this scenario, I would also want to know what lies could have been said to a competent FISA judge that gave the FBI permission.

In my opinion, if there was one iota of honesty in James Comey, his agency would have approached Trump to let him know that they believed there to be a Russia problem within his campaign instead of just sending in spies. He certainly would have approached Hillary differently.

But, regardless of Mueller's findings, we will never know the whole truth.

Republicans are unable to put together a national majority vote. Their demographics get worse every day. Nothing can change that.

Losing 6 of the last 7 national presidential popular votes is only the beginning.

I'll ignore your comments about imbecillicism. Let's pretend that you were able to post without lowering yourself to such boorish tactics.

Trends are not favorable for your "highly intellectual" number crunchers... spin it all you want. Its the establishments that are going down. They are passe', counterproductive, worse than useless as they do harm.

I never used the term "highly intellectual." Don't present it as something that I advanced.

Thanks.

Nah, they pleaded guilty because they were guilty, but also because our generation's foremost prosecutor offered them plea deals to shield themselves from getting prosecuted for far worse like Manafort.

What evidence do you have that Flynn and Papa were facing charges worse than lying to FBI agents?

Mueller sitting in a room with Trump’s much maligned nemesis AG Sessions, determining whether or not to give Mueller the jurisdictional authority to forward Trump’s case for prosecution to the NY state AG, whoever that may be at the time. That works on so many levels.

Time, and the evidence, will tell. It's unfortunate that if the disposition verdict is a thumbs-down, any successor will more than likely pardon Donald J. Trump.

And he knows this. Which is why he has decided to keep attacking and obstructing, forcing a constitutional crisis with the hope that the two other branches will back away from the brink.

You mean the desperation that comes from rising poll numbers that make him look just as good as Obama?

Dont get so defensive...I know you didnt and you as well know...they were meant as sarcastic air " "quotes... so point well taken as there assuredly is nothing highly intellectual, beneficially anyhow, from the left. Overeducated sure, not in anything useful however.

But that honest criticism has inspired innovation, maybe I will use " " ***** " " to denote air quotes in the future.

Interesting.

Now flesh that out by giving us some reasonable scenario wherein that might come to pass, a referral come into play noting that the president would somehow be already taken out by impeacment ( ? ) for Pence to be in position, impeachment for what, and then refered from a state crime.

Seems overkill as well...but hey, its your scenario.

Having a hard time seeing how the jigsaw fits eaxactly, without forcing some noncomplementary pieces together.

Ok. I accept that. But just to be clear. Don't misquote me. It's against the rules of this forum.

He may not want to make Russia more powerful or help Russia, but he sure does seem to want to convert America into the kind of Russia-like country where rich/corrupt businessmen no longer have to pretend to do things honestly.

That would benefit his family immensely.

Actually Rosentein makes that call, and already has. Mueller & NY State AG are sharing information. Sessions recused himself, so it's more difficult for him to pressure Mueller.

Yeah. It's a jigsaw puzzle with rough edges.

If Mueller doesn’t believe he has enough evidence to recommend criminal prosecution of Trump for a federal crime, he might have enough evidence for proof of a state crime and refer to the given state AG. He could still have a great deal of evidence to give Congress of smoke but no picture of a gun in hand. I just don’t see Trump being impeached unless there’s proof of a crime, federal or state. Maybe if he invaded Canada or something like that. If Congress believes the writing is on the wall of a federal crime for which Trump can be legally prosecuted and convicted, they might go ahead and impeach him to have Pence in place to pre-pardon Trump for any “crimes he might have committed”, “in the best interests of the country” as Gerald Ford did with Nixon and which does not require an admission of guilt. Then, the prosecution may not bother with any trial. But a state trial, neither Congress nor the President, Trump or Pence, have any authority over. As long as the crime is not for anything to do with presidential duties (Clinton’s perjury was not to do with his duties as president). My guess is he would be impeached before trial to get Pence in there so as to better prepare for the next election. Still, Mueller would have to get the OK from Rosenstein to have the authority to refer the matter to any state for prosecution. A bit of a border crossing check-point there.

Thanks. I forgot. I should have listened to that little voice in the back of my head. Just white-out "Sessions" and replace with "Rosenstein".

So...

What you are in effect advocating, based solely on your dislike/hatred of Trump, is to make it precedent that, to achieve power over any elected official, one need only accuse them of some qualifying egregious crime. Then we automatically appoint a special counsel to go over every single thing in their, their family's and all far flung associates lives in search of any crime or potential crime?

You dont have any real interest in collusion or not, you want to bring the president down by hook or by crook. Heavy emphasis on the latter.

ROTLOL... I take it that was your best shot... one that missed the target... for...

...It has nothing to do with Russian collusion or obstruction of justice.

Care to try again?

Sssssshhhhhhh.....let 'em go. Every day they waste on this fantasy is another nail in their political coffins. Election night 2020 ought to be great fun.:)

The N.Y. state AG had also resigned.
