Government Shutdown Looming....$100K ticket Fundraiser at Maralago

Who's anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim? Or is this anotyer version of "you be a racist if you disagree with me"?

Racists be as racists are. Their defenders are something else.

Yet Trump was tweeting about government shutdowns months ago. Now he's got his wish, he owns it.

So what if he does? Government shutdowns don't bother anyone but Liberals.

Trump doesn't want any Africans, Haitians, or people from ****holes. He ran on banning and registering Muslims too.

You still telling that lie? :lamo

If not wanting immigrants from ****hole countries makes a government anti-immigrant, then every country in the world is anti-immigrant.

Sure and if the US defaults on its debts, who cares about that too right? This why you should not put a party that does not believe in government in charge of the government.

Manchin in favor of CR. Donnelly announces he is in favor of CR.

This may be the sign for a red Dem departure, as it should be. This isn’t the time to massage the egos of the Dem primary voters.

That isn't going to happen...lol

I don't want immigrants, nor illegal aliens that going to come to The United States and immediately become welfare recipients. Do you agree?

That part can be discussed until March. Dems have agreed to everything else, but want to attach DACA, which is non urgent, to the current bill. They are holding everything and everyone hostage except the "kids".
I guess there is a lot of mistrust going about. If both sides would have played fair in the past, Dems wouldn't see the need to attach Daca to the bill but leave it on the table.
imho, immigration and its subsequent issues are such a huge undertaking, it should be discussed separately. Don't confuse me with those who want to send the "kids" packing. No, that is not the case.
We can compromise on that. Let the parents, or whoever brought them here, pay a fine, attach some community service or sorts. But also address the illegal border crossings etc.
All this is just to complex to just hang onto the current bill.
Muddling up something like amnesty was done during the Reagan administration. It is why we are here yet again. Why repeat and create another mess?

DACA is urgent. It exists for, what - 6 more weeks? Trump has been President for 12 months and was very anxious to do away with DACA, without having something worked out with the Democrats. The GOP owns it. The Dems are doing what their constituents want them to do. As a lifelong Republican voter, I would want the party I elected to make sure that my wishes are being addressed.

Besides, based on Trump's bipolar behavior about DACA in the last few weeks, I really don't blame the Democrats for doing what they're doing.

You want to be the party in power? You have to take the good with the bad. The GOP wisely held up things over the years when they weren't in power. It's what I wanted them to do. Turnabout is fair play, unless you're so hyper-partisan that you can't think straight.

The skinny black man and his SOS disappeared for an entire day while one of our ambassadors was killed and our consulate burned.

I consider that more important than some business as usual possible government shutdown.

I'm sure you can find a Benghazi thread to discuss that in. There have to be 34398645 of them on here. This isn't one of them, thank goodness.

That's what you think people from Africa and Haiti do? Not a single person from those countries can be a contributing member of society?

The government will probably shut down and Trump is golfing (39 weekends now at his business properties) and huckstering donations at Mar-a-Lago.

The "Master Negotiator" said adios and jetted out of DC. Gee. Who would have guessed it?

Remainder of red state Dems, including Manchin, introduce bill to halt Congressional pay during government shutdown.

I think this should be called the No Labels bill, because they've floated this talking point for years.

How this interacts with an existing Consitututional amendment, I have no idea.

Anyways, signals that they are still in the middle of this spitting match, although McCaskill went to Twitter a few hours ago and said Republicans are clueless in governing because this situation is unprecedented given the level of political power the GOP has.

No, if anything this is supposed to be the moment where democrats stand their ground and prove that they actually have principles

Before we go any further: do you live in a vulnerable seat with a red seat Dem?

No idea. I'm betting on a yes, but I'm hoping the red seat Dems don't fall for the bait and let the Resistance movement dictate what their constituents at home aren't interested in and will punish them for.

Its getting close.

Better question: do you think that democrats should stand for something?
Yeah, I do too. But the reason why I asked you where you are from is that shapes what those "something's" are.

If the government shuts down, that could happen. But hey, only godless liberals care about that eh?

It won't happen. But, if it's that big of a deal, you should get on the horn to yoir Libbo buddies and tell them to vote for the CR.
