Unless they're just as motivated as the Russian propaganda site was to use an edited video in order to make Merkel seem stupid.

He's a laughingstock around the world. The room broke out in laughter when he said that, and then there was awkward silence by Trump (and of course Merkel, who was speechless at what he'd said).

But Thumpers love it. The hatred, the drama queen stuff, the scowl, the references to violence, the suspicion and paranoia, the fear, the nothing-to-do-with-reality-or-facts. They eat it up. And Thump knows it. He's playing to his audience.

So are you at least admitting the video is not faked? I'd accept that there isn't much context and it was used but that's different than, "Ruuuusssiiiiaaaaaaa.......!!!!" for everything people don't like.

Anything that works to run the guy down, they have an impeachment to conduct, the less squawking there is from the the little people about it the better.

Um....the video I linked to was specifically faked, which I posted as an example of how editing creates a completely made up conclusion.
