Mollie Tibbetts' father in op-ed: She is not a pawn in 'racist' immigration narrative

It’s certainly fashionable to blame Republicans, Trump, and Fox. Expect “inflammatory rhetoric” rather than warm fuzzies when a Mollie Tibbetts is murdered by someone who should not have been here. And just FYI, kitchens and construction companies, etc. are “filled to the brim” with scofflaws who are here illegally. Rivera was here for several years before he committed (insofar as we’re aware) his crime.

It's not fashionable, it's accurate to blame them. They are completely reckless and ignorant in their rhetoric.

Yeah, I'm from Michigan and Utah so, I grew up around Latinos. Moreso in Utah than Michigan. Utah isn't that far behind California and Texas. Although, I know, believe me, they have moved right into those states.

Statistically, you are safer among the scofflaws than among your own.

"Increased undocumented immigration since 1990 has not increased violent crime over that same time period," Light said in a phone interview. ...
"We found no evidence that undocumented immigration increases the prevalence of any of those outcomes," Light said.

Well, the reality is... she was murdered by an illegal alien (immigrant) who should not have been here to do it. That reality is there, 100% factual.

The rest is noise...

Murders shouldn't happen. But, they do. What's your point?

Here is an article you'll like from 7-'17 that comments on cartels on the verge of extinction: https://www.opendemocracy.net/democ...t-violence-along-us-mexico-border-really-look

Here is a list of the 20 metro areas that six-in-ten unauthorized immigrants live in. Are you within 100 miles of any of them? I am, so our experiences are likely very different. Most U.S. unauthorized immigrants live in just 20 metro areas | Pew Research Center

Not only are you unable to come up with an original retort, ...
iLOL Unlike your post, my retort was actually accurate.

..., but you are busily dying on the hill of “**** what the family wishes, we want to continuing exploiting murder victims!”

You don’t seem to realize how telling that is.
You do not seem to understand how stupid your response was.

Using this incident is valid regardless of the families wishes. And regardless of what you absurdly think, the family does not dictate what can or can not be used.

Except that its an anecdote, not an argument. Anecdotes only prove/disprove an "all" or "none" argument, which this is not. As there is no point in using Mollie (as it doesn't prove the point that some are trying to make) and his father asked you not to, why to you persist on dishonoring the humble wishes of a hurting man? It seems rather deplorable to me.
No one said the example was the argument. Advocating would be the argument, while the incident serves as an example in support of the argument.

Just like you do not decide for others what they can or can not use to make a point, neither can the father.
Whether you think it is deplorable or not is irrelevant.
