I would LOVE a Senate hearing on impeachment.

First witness: Adam Schiff. Game over.

But there are dozens more that need to be grilled, too.

It would be a disaster for the Democrats, which is why Nancy is no doubt trying to figure out how to not do it and keep the crazies from rioting.

Pelosi is caught in a trap of her own making.
She only has 3 choices.

1. Don't bring the articles of impeachment due to lack of evidence. (trump wins)
2. bring the articles of impeachment by making up non-existent laws and get partisan support. lose in the senate (trump wins)
3. bring the articles of impeachment by making up non-existent laws and get partisan support but have democrats vote no and lose in the senate (trump wins).

in no way do schiff or pelosi win in this thing.

Yep I want Joe Biden and Hunter Biden and Schiff and two of Schiff's staffers that worked with the WB and communicated with the WB and the WB himself to be subpoenaed. The polls are already not going the Democrats way. After a Senate trial the American public will turn on the Dems. When this thing makes it to the Senate the Democrats lose control over the process. It will be their worst nightmare. For those reasons I don't think the Dems will vote to send it to the Senate. Also there are about 30 House members that are from districts where Trump won. Nancy would be asking them to do something that their constituents do not want them to do. So they would be falling on their sword to send impeachment to the Senate where its going to fail. I predict Nancy is going to lose her speakership because of this. The only thing I think they can do is vote on censorship of the President and not impeachment.

The president has the responsibility to defend the privacy and power of the office of the presidency. Allowing congress to pierce executive privilege would damage the presidency for future presidents.

What is your point? A very nice list of political trivia that just goes to show that Cons like running con-jobs. Everyone of those things was a complete silliness, yet a bunch of not particularly well-informed nor particularly bright people (a/k/a - useful idiots) got their dander up thinking they were some type of scandal.

I do agree that Trump cares about corruption, but in much the same way he cares about p***y..... if there is some for the taking, he wants some of it.

Republicans have a bad habit of daring Democrats to do things that will ultimately hurt Republicans but that they hope they can trick Democrats into not doing by playing a riveting game of reverse psychology. Trump dared Pelosi and Schumer to shut down the government. So they let him shut it down. He dared Kim to provoke the US again. So Kim kept testing weapons. He dared Pelosi to take an inquiry vote on the floor. So she did. I'm pretty sure Democrats are going to impeach Trump even without your goading. It is curious, though, that this grade school tactic is being attempted at the highest level of politics.

Oversight is a job of Congress. There is no privacy or power of the Office when Congress sits for that purpose.
