Well, we are not exactly being humane putting kids in for-profit inadequate detention centers that literally lobby politicians to keep the kids coming to make more and more money.

Would you bring you child up and place them in the hands of abusers? That would make you an abuser too wouldn’t it? How about if you put your child in the hands of a sex trafficker? How about if you rent your child out to border jumpers? Who is abusing who exactly?

Yes! I believe the abuses mainly occur between the migrants as your article clearly points out. 178 were attributed to staff. We need to behead the staff.

And now comes the "blame the victim" defense for child abuse. Why can't you just admit that you're okay with child abuse, Crystal? Do you even know what it is you're defending?

You clearly said you don't believe there is any abuse.

Now that the abuse has been shown, you are trying to deflect "well it was only x amount versus ..." No.

Admit you were wrong and there is abuse.

That's just one article I shared, believe me there is more where that came from.

These people are making me sick.

I am only somewhat consoled that a couple of these people are just trolls who are yanking our chains. But the disturbing part is the other ones that are revealing their true nature, hate filled people who are excusing this unexcusable practice of for-profit detention centers and their conditions.

I feel that this thread has gone into trigger warning territory. This is like an abusive parent beating a child within an inch of their life, and a bystander tells the sobbing child, "If you didn't say that mean word, this wouldn't have happened to you!" Absolutely deplorable.

We Americans are the evildoers right? So now tell me. How much should American taxpayers send in aid to these really wonderful countries in South and Central America? And, how much should the American taxpayer be on the hook for in providing for their citizens and their children who enter our country illegally. Give me a sum.

There's no excuse for not securing the border. Secure the border and there wouldn't be a need for the detention centers.

And again, if they don't like it, they can go home. Frankly, the centers are probably a huge improvement over what they're accustomed to.

That's an interesting question.

How about looking at the damage done by puppet governments put in power by the USA, who then let American corporations rape the land and people, and figure out how much wealth left the country, and how much damage was done to the people through lack of education, healthcare, etc.?

Hmmmm, I suspect the USA couldn't afford to pay for all the damage they've done.
