WH and DOJ Officials Discussed Mueller Report Before Release

Close, he said 'half the wedding doesn't show'. lol

it was a great analogy. I'm actually not an Ari fan, but I do like some of his commentators.

Only if one presumes that Mueller or his team should be present. They did the heavy lifting and their job is done. Now the political part begins.

The DOJ is informing Jerry Nadler that the democrat Congress will not be receiving the report until late tomorrow afternoon.

This is not a coincidence of any sort, this is intentional because Friday is Good Friday and Congress is out of session all next week for Easter recess.

One more little thing. I live about 2 miles from where Sikorsky helicopters are made. I see them once in a while flying overhead test flight. But 30 minutes ago I saw the BIG helicopter, the Boeing CH-47 Chinook. I have NEVER seen this ship fly over. This massive helicopter is a troop carrier.

Would Trump dare to cause trouble in Cuba or Venezuela this weekend just to detract from this whole Mueller report?
I wouldn't put that past him.

If anyone told us two weeks ago all that's happened to this day, and especially today, you would have yelled 'conspiracy theories!!'

Yeah, especially mounting a "false flag" operation using the Canadian Air Force! You are really on top of things, Brownie!

Tic, toc, tic, toc... I live to hear your nervous chatter as you guys begin to steel yourselves for the Mueller report is rolled out, and used as a road map for some of the indictments sure to come down the road as America asks itself if an attempted coup de etat is anything to spill your beer over.

Tomorrow will be a priceless day at D.P.

We usually wimp out when it comes to indicting the large swamp creatures, but I think this time the small fry may get a break and the big players may being to pay the price for their actions. We shall see.

Have fun wigging out, your day is coming.

Imagine the right wing reaction if Comey had coordinated with the Clinton campaign to give them a preview of the FBI’s findings before he had his July 2016 press conference. Republicans would have lost their minds.

Expectations seem to be a lot lower these days, for some reason.

"Coud de etat"? LOL! It's always fun to see Trump worshipers spaz-dance around and pretend an actual coup was attempted.

I have to agree. There is no issue with them discussing it. It's the AG's duty to report to the president.

If they then subsequently conspire to cover up any crimes in order to protect the president, it becomes a problem. But info sharing in this case is the AG's responsibility to his boss.

Besides, Trump should know what they've got on him.

The difference here is his boss is the subject of the investigation Barr is reporting to him about.

It's unusual for a president to be a suspect, so it is reasonable to question whether Barr's actions are appropriate.

The problem is that he's been 'open and transparent' to Trump and his attorneys for days. But with Congress, our government body that makes laws, he's hiding and covering up. It's scandalous how blatantly and willfully he's serving as Trump's personal lawyer, not the lawyer for the people of this country.

Peter Carr, who is Robert Mueller's spokesperson, just put out a statement ahead of tomorrow's press conference that Barr and Rosenstein are giving, that there will be no member of Mueller's team in attendance. Peter Carr will be there only because he handles the press on DOJ criminal matters.

Do you know what that means? It's like having a wedding and only the groom shows up, not the bride. Basically the Mueller team is not in agreement with what William Barr is trying to pull off.

That's a big snub.

Damn!

Not only that but tomorrow's media circus sees Barr/Rosenstein take ninety minutes to paint their gutted version of the report in the least damaging light for Trump, before the release to the media of the 400 page in hard copy! (no pdf) Before the public finally gets access to another version at 2pm.

This report must be so exonerating they're making it as hard as possible to access it!

Trump haters love their rumors these day, for some reason.

The CT section of this forum is further down.
Thinking that seeing a CH47 at a helicopter plant indicates any kind military operation is true CT level thinking. I think your TDS is effecting your ability to think rationally

I often think back on this comment that Matt Schlapp made back in February:

“Tomorrow will be the first day that President Trump will have a fully operational confirmed Attorney General. Let that sink in. Mueller will be gone soon.”

Matt Schlapp: ’Mueller will be gone soon’ - POLITICO

So the fact is that Matt Schlapp was completely wrong and Mueller finished his investigation but yet you think that is relevant some how.

Nadler's ass is already chapped because Barr is going to talk to the media before he gets the report. He certainly doesn't like getting hind tit, does he? Think what would happen if the media gets the report before he does.

It was clear when he refused to answer the question on whether the white house had seen the Mueller report. Are there any honorable Republicans today?

I'm afraid there Republicans as we knew them are gone. Most of what we have now are Banana Republicans.

Not sure if this has been posted but Barr's actions in a 1989 summary, report was 29 pages, his summary was 13, and yes it left out a ton of info.
Clinton from what I understand ordered its release

Barr is using the same playbook and phrases in both summaries written by him
Barr’s Playbook: He Misled Congress When Omitting Parts of Justice Dep’t Memo in 1989 - Just Security

Close, he said 'half the wedding doesn't show'. lol

Imagine the prospect of trying to control the narrative long term when some of the people who don't like Chump and the Trumpanzees already have access to the full unredacted Mueller Report.

Barr, Chump and the other Trumpanzees collectively tasked with the mission to control the narrative face a very, very slippery slope! Tomorrow's unveiling only adds to the drama!

Viva the Anti-Trump Movement! Paranoia has struck deep inside the White House staff!

Probably take more than just the weekend to fly to Cuba or Venezuela. :p

Their range is approximately 450 miles and cruising speed is 184 mph. If they deployed from south Florida it would be a stretch as far fuel goes. They could probably make it under 4 hours. But the capacity is 33 - 55 passengers.

Some air cav people would know one hell of a lot more about it than I could even guess, but I can't envision them as assault choppers on initial assault to Venezuela. Of course, you never know with Trump as CIC. He knows jack**** about the military. NOTHING.

I'm just hoping President Bonespur doesn't initiate any military action anywhere. But...

I would be completely surprised if he did and would denounce it as loudly as anyone else. I just don’t see it happening.

Stealing that.

Please do and use it often.

You know, brother, it is a sad fact that it is true.

Honor, integrity, ethics, rule of law are pretty much what we see in ****hole countries.

Soooo...no law or rule, just naked personal opinion? Okay. :coffeepap:

The independence of the DOJ is vital to the rule of law but I know that is not a issue for you. You think Trump IS the law and that amounts to sedition.

I'm confused. What is the issue?

Of course the President would have the right to see and discuss the results before it would be published.

The Special Counsel was appointed by Asst. Attorney General Rod Rosenstein after then-Attorney General Sessions recused himself. This was approved by the President.

The DOJ is a part of the government Administration and subject to the President's authority as Chief Executive.

What law or rule is being broken when the Attorney-General reports the results to the President, and then discusses what must be redacted by law, and what will be published? :unsure13:
It seems the keft is pissed that Trumps yeam is being given the opprotunity to prepare their response to the content of the report. Its a curtsey they dont believe trump deserves.

I reall can't think of any other explanation

The independence of an agency that is part of the executive branch and whose head reports directly to the President?

Yes, I posted this on another thread.

Here's my take. William Barr, in his 4 page summary, had used only partial sentences out of the actual sentences by Mueller in the original report. In other words, he essentially cherry-picked and sanitized the results of the report which made them favorable for Trump of course.

Now the report will be released and even with redactions, there's going to be a lot of embarrassing things in there for Trump but not necessarily unlawful.

The strategy is going to be to attack the Mueller investigation itself, from the ground up, and de-legitimize it as much as possible, nearly to the point that people will be wanting Mueller locked up. LOL! (almost serious)

Trump's lawyers, and Barr himself are going to accuse the FBI of unlawful spying and that's a bunch of crap. Those FISA warrants on Page and Papadoupolis were valid warrants. Then they'll move on to Strzok and Page and John Brennan. By the time they're finished, just to save Trump's ass, they're willing to destroy those institutions so vital to our country's security that there really won't be any trust in any government federal agency any longer.

This is very sad what's happened to this country. I think the game is over and democracy lost.
If what you say about the warrants is true then the investigation will cpnfirm that. Whqts the problem?
