TIME 'Person of the Year' 2016

TIME certainly didn't pick him because they liked him....That's for sure, hell there are probably some in their halls still crying....

I guess this year, "Man of the Year" and "Asshole of the Year" have coincided. It's happened before though.

Person of the year does not mean good person. A person can be both great and terrible. Great in the scope of achievement and influence, and terrible in the realization of the goal and means of achieving it.

Of course, comparing Trump to Hitler is hyperbolic, and you know it. We're not in the process of gearing up to throw millions of people into ovens or gas chambers.

Trump is not a republican. He's closer to the Nationalist Populist/Fascist scale.
Last time I looked Trump had an R behind his name. You can, all you want as only your own dwindling echo chamber is listening to your or your MSM biased sentiments anymore, continue to try to play this fascist card...

But the racist, sexist, xenophobic and fascist cards you have laid on the table have been, well, Trumped. :lamo ;) :peace I would suggest listening to the real American public, get back to basics, be for America and American values as it is a dangerous and very competitive world out there, and quit trying the failed techniques of division and denigration. Your side is way behind the eight ball now, they have lost the confidence of a growing and alerted citizenry to the faults and the harmful untruths coming ad nauseum from academia, the media, Hollywood and the Democrat party. The pendulum might swing back with that party, I mean you have NO PLACE to look but up as your side is on the bottom. Almost the very bottom with all the federal government now in our hands, 30 governorships and 68 out of 99 state legislatures.

If you don't start to correct your major faults, you will go into the dust bin of history like the Whigs.

But if you do go into that dust bin, something will rise up out of those ashes just like the Republican Party did after the Whigs. And we need that to happen, we need an honest party to counter my own party, the necessary good left wing and a good right wing with eagle eyes monitoring both sides watching the other properly, balanced/fair so that this American eagle can fly straight and continue upwards. Your side has no message of common sense, truth or even hope at this point in time, so have a lot of catching up to do to be in a position to be that balancing from the left.

Do it, for all our sakes. Don't blow it like you are at the moment.

Lest it be know that the cover of Time is a dubious honor.

THE CHOICE
BY NANCY GIBBS

This is the 90th time we have named the person who had the greatest influence, for better or worse, on the events of the year. So which is it this year: Better or worse? The challenge for Donald Trump is how profoundly the country disagrees about the answer.

THE CHOICE

Surprised?
I am not.

For better or worse.

What a weird looking dude. Never trust anyone with beady eyes and fake hair.

This used to mean something, but Time Magazine aint what it used to be, and this act of getting something right is rare for them.

Great cover too.....really captures the essence of TRUMP

At least we don't have to put up with conservative posters losing their mind over this like we do every year.

I can get behind that. Hey, guess who was Time's person of the year in 1938.

I can get behind that. Hey, guess who was Time's person of the year in 1938.

Well, I guess this thread was going to be Godwinned sooner or later.

Way to be pro-active !

Is there anyone besides Trump that could have been legitimately chosen for this?

Honestly, I don't think so. I can't think of anyone else who had as much of an impact on the national psyche.

At least we don't have to put up with conservative posters losing their mind over this like we do every year.

It was Merkel last year, for making some really idiotic choices.

It was the Ebola Fighters the year before, after fighting Ebola had been done extremely poorly.

So ya, Time getting it right is a novelty.

I can get behind that. Hey, guess who was Time's person of the year in 1938.

I should have made a bet .
When Time names Trump person of the year, how many liberals will post " Hitler did it too".lol.

Hey, did you read the thread before replying? I am thinking not.

Obama received that honor

Twice.

It's not an "honor". ( well, except when liberals win it) . It's more just an observation. The Us President is almost a front runner given the nature of the job.
Osama Bin Laden did NOT get it in 2001. Now come on.

Hey, did you read the thread before replying? I am thinking not.

You're right. In what I think may be a first in internet history the "person of the year" award wasn't automatically confused for the "best person of the year." I'm impressed.
