Sure enough, the media LIED about "Trump calling Coronavirus a hoax".

What's important to note is Trump's staggering failure during this time of unparalleled need.

Sorry. your basic premise is faulty, hence your argument fails.

Hardly. It is important to note who you folks wanted in his place. Between those alternatives, we got it right.

Everyone knows we got it wrong. If we got it right, NOBODY in our country would have the coronavirus now.

He never called the virus a hoax. Never said it. So claiming he did is the lie. Claiming he did even after learning he did not is dishonest. Deploooooable.

If he didn't think it was a hoax than why did he do nothing for a month except those Rallies? He treated as a hoax and repeatedly said "we have it under control" He couldn't say that unless he knew nothing about the virus and did not hear the defense briefings he was given as early as November.

The lost month: Trump says he took ‘strong action’ in February to stop coronavirus. Here’s the full picture.

Nobody ever believed he was saying the existence of the virus was a hoax. What a horribly stupid lie for you to tell. He called the Democrats' desire to take it seriously a hoax, thus he lied and denied for the first few months. He got people killed in an idiotic bid to try to protect re-election chances. And you applaud him for it. But then, we knew the ugliness was the point.

And now the vile pig bastard has a new ploy. He asserts "total authority", then runs away and says it's up to the governors. He's positioning himself so that if we recover faster than predicted, he can tell morons that he gets the credit. But also, if everything blows up due to his "reopening" demand, he can tell morons that the governors are at fault. He knows they'll say whatever he says. I agree that this is very "Depl[or]able".

Please bear in mind that I hold the upmost sympathy for you. I'm so sorry that "Shrillary" who should be "lock[ed] up" called you a name. That must have hurt a lot.

Feb 1, Trump at Davos Switzerland: "We've contained the virus. It was one person, who came from China."

WHO stated there was no human to human transmission when ti was already known there was.

I think a more honest assessment is that what this virus did surprised everyone, every infectious disease expert, every public health expert, at least until more was known and more data was collected. We still don't have even close to 100% solid data set (it is unknown the number of people exposed, which is the denominator while the number of deaths is the numerator for example), and probably won't have close to 100% solid data for another year.

Stop promulgating the Democrat hoax which was referenced (the politicization of the virus).

The vile pig Shrillary loves me. And Trump never called the virus a hoax. No matter what happens in the future, some idiots will blame the President. Ignorant, pathetic, snowflake morons will continue to blame the president. Deplooooooable.

Stop trying to rewrite history. The internet makes it stupid. Did you really think Trump could ignore all those security briefings and get away with it again? He was caught red handed this time. Now you will tell me it is the President decision on what to do with security briefings...and I guess you are right but he must face the consequences if he ignores than and keeps them secret. There are some serious consequences this time.

President Donald Trump has frequently insisted that "nobody" could have seen the coronavirus outbreak coming and that it "came out of nowhere."
The pandemic's scope and severity are unlike anything the global community has grappled with in decades.
But the president was warned — urgently and repeatedly — of this scenario, and his claim that it "came out of nowhere" and could not have been predicted is patently false.
US officials conducted training exercises last year simulating the exact scenario that's currently playing out, but their warnings went unheeded. Intelligence officials were also warning Trump about a pandemic as early as January, but they "couldn't get him to do anything about it."
The Trump administration declined to use an Obama-era playbook instructing federal officials on how to prepare for a pandemic. And the president has spent the last two years slashing the government agencies responsible for handling such an outbreak.

Lots of people got it wrong. Lots of experts in the field across the entire planet got it wrong. These are facts.
It is surprising they made incorrect public statements as late as they did. This is also a fact. Apparently unaware of the facts at the time they made those statements.

I am not re-writing history.

You are singling one out because he's not of your own political party, which is pretty dishonest, and is also using the viral outbreak as a political weapon, typical of leftists and Democrats, i.e. the 'Democrat's next hoax'.

So you are denying that Trump received multiple briefings by the military and intelligence agencies starting in Nov. that a pandemic was likely?

So we're right back to this again? Geezus, get over this. He referred to it as a democratic hoax, those are his words.

Looks like the confirmation bias is still pretty strong with you.

How about this, mind showing me where he called the virus as such?

You know, with a link, or some other citation. Just to be sure.

Did President Trump Refer to the Coronavirus as a 'Hoax'?

In context, Trump did not say in the passage above that the virus itself was a hoax. He instead said that Democrats’ criticism of his administration’s response to it was a hoax.

Liberals love Snopes; this should clear up any controversy. HE NEVER SAID IT.

They're moving the goal posts on you. You successfully called them out on the "hoax" quote, making them all look foolish, so now the goal posts are being moved to; "but, yeah, he didn't act quick enough". By that standard nobody acted quick enough. Back in 2012 there was a study presented to then President Obama warning that we weren't prepared for a pandemic. Crap, no country this size is even capable of preventing a pandemic.

I agree. I think it fair to say that every political leader, every infectious disease expert across the planet didn't know, or realized too late, what this viral outbreak was going to do. By that standard they all put everyone on the planet in danger, but it's an impossible standard, and one some would apply to only those not of their political party.

I'd say that there is no 'preventing a pandemic'. These viruses have been at it a lot longer than humans have even been around, and they are better at spreading than humans are at stopping them from spreading, if that's even possible, given the realities of life.

What is more disturbing is what it's starting to look like where this virus came from.

Yes, we love facts. Why do you hate them?

He never said the words that he said. :lamo

I'm the one who quoted Snopes, remember? So why the character assassination? Usually people resort to that tactic when their argument won't stand up.

And as you can see, if you trust Snopes, Trump never called the virus a "hoax". That is a flat out lie. Repeating a lie once you know the truth is dishonest. And there are lots of things any president can be criticized for, there is no need to lie about what he said. Or keep repeating that lie. It shows weakness.
