Oh Jesus, Christians moved into number 1 spot.

OK, this is a multiple choice, so select all that you feel applies. Which of the hypothetical public employees should be fire or moved to a different position for not doing their job?
FifyProbably wouldn't have happened had people not become fatigued of Christians trying to shove their morality down everyone elses throat for the last several centuries...

Oh lord.... lets get all over analytical and nitpicky.
Apparently I must return to adding disclaimers and fine print to my posts.

Yeh, this doesn't have any affect on religious freedom at all.
I see states stopping the marriage licence business all together over this.
Any public employee, hypothetical or not, should be fired for not doing their job.
This doesn't affect religious freedom at all. Again why do posters try to sell this lie. Also the marriage licenses isn't a business and the state has no reason to stop. It's a LEGAL contract that the government is protecting.
Tell that to the bakers, the venue operators, the printers, the pizza place owners etc that have been intentionally targeted by the homosexual community. Everyone of them was directly affected because of their religious beliefs.
Nope. Every one of them was directly affected by the actions they took or claimed to intend to take based on their religious beliefs. There is a difference.
That's your Leftist opinion, lady
You have no idea what was in their minds so you just make something up.
So therefore I would have no idea what their real beliefs are, only what their actions were. Which makes me right. Any consequences they faced, whether justified or not, were based on their actions, which they claim were based on their beliefs, but we couldn't know their beliefs because we can't read minds.

In calling her a "leftist", I'm reminded of some of the extreme socialist types who call anybody a "right winger" if they are anything short of Che Guevara.
Such reactions have more to do with where the accuser stands in the political spectrum than the target.
Wrong. If someone isn't going to be able to do their job, they should be fired. In response to the poll, I couldn't vote because I don't think any of them should be fired.
In general terms, government must provide services prescribed by law. If a public official has a genuine ethical objection to a modest part of his or her work, he should declare this and the employer should make arrangements to ensure that the public service continues to be provided while the employee is fully employed on work which does not offend their conscience.
It reminds of a story from a colleague who was in the army. His colleague put in an objection to going to church on Sunday on the alleged grounds of being a sun worshipper. The request was approved. His fellow soldiers then made sure he got up to greet the sun every morning until he became a Christian again!
Wrong. If someone isn't going to be able to do their job, they should be fired.
.
Thats the dumbest story I ever heard. They get to green the sun anwyays in the Army.
The English law does not have anything to do with the church / state relationship. They all should be relieved of their duties...because in the US we practice a separation between church and State. A public service worker is paid by tax dollars...tax dollars paid by all Americans.
I fired 20 hypothetical employees just today, and I didn't even give them a reason.

I don't know US law but is it really so draconian in every state? You're describing a situation where absolutely no flexibility for conscience is ever afforded. I'd say it would be quite hard to operate a full public service with such a policy, but perhaps it is that draconian and I'm wrong.
