Republicans helped negotiate signature legislation that would have dedicated billions to border security and reform of the immigration process. They voted against it because their cult leader told them to. When they had all branches of government during the Trump administration did they pass any border security legislation? No, they passed a draconian tax cut for their wealthy donors. The only ones to blame for the border crisis are Republicans.
How do you not understand this? Neither party will shut down illegal immigration. You might as well ask why Trump didn't show some guts and shut it down. Same thing. Wealthy, powerful people are in charge.
