Re: Westboro Baptist Church Member Blames Oklahoma Tornado On Jason Collins' Coming O
I'm not saying evangelicals are all extremists. I am saying that one of their (regrettable) fixations is condemning gays. They seem fixed on this issue. Of course Jesus never mentioned the issue, not even the word (he was too busy talking about justice for the poor -- something evangelicals avoid talking about) and those who cite Paul on it are misstating his words and intent.
But there they are fixating on gay sex, when the gospel message is about faith expressing itself through love. As I pointed out in the post above, their judgment of gays already judges them. Paul says explicitly not to judge those outside the church. Period. He says not to judge the (apparently) homosexual idolators of Romans 1. Period. So what do the evangelicals do? Judge gays outside the church. It's as if they set out to deny Paul's admonitions.
that is becuase the gay issue is at hand currently, Jesus did not speak of homosexuality, but it is a sin.
justice for the poor is not social justice , which is what is being preached, Jesus was not about force of any kind, but social justice is.
again who are seeing a focus on homosexuality, , becuase it is at the forefront of arguments today in our state governments and approaching our federal government, this is why the issue in growing among Christians.
yes some christian do judge homosexuals
the person,...it is the sin, that christian are suppose to have issue with not the person, god and christian, are supposed to love their fellow man.
but did Jesus say, "he who is without sin, cast the first stone", ....but concluded " go and sin no more".
from your reading of the bible, from what i get, you saying Christians, can only discuss sin inside closed doors of the church, and not in the public square, when anything takes place in the public square every citizen, has a right to voice his concern.
as a christian as you profess, you know homosexuality is a sin, ..do you not?
one does not have to be a zealot over the issue, but one as a practicing christian, does not have to be silent and allow those whom wish to support a sin, go unabated.
