Things you cannot say anymore?

these three happened a couple of decades ago.
1. 'Retarded' discarded for 'developmentally delayed' ( I think that is most current)
2. 'Midget' discarded for 'little person'
3. 'American Indian' discarded for 'Native American' (better yet refer to tribal identity)
 
Yes ma’am or yes sir etc.
 
You can no longer say that people should "stay in their place."

But you can say that people should "stay in their lane."
 
Some time ago they started coming up with fancy new vocabulary for "shell shock" and there was a comedian fella who did a great routine on that whole idea of changing language to apparently take harshness out of some of the language of the past.

Truth is, the list of changes is super long.

Might want to include that stuff I have been reading about that using nouns/pronouns that indicate gender is frowned upon in some places.

And not just in the English language, right? _ _ _ UH OH! My mistake - - - SORRY!!
