China already does it. Do we have a legal recourse against them?
Does what?

Really. So you're saying that the U.S. wouldn't disappear him if it was believed to serve our best interests? And, concern about this wouldn't be normal?
A federal government that can completely stifle public discourse by deeming certain topics "classified" is neither weak nor small. If you really wanted a small/weak federalist government, you'd see the dangers here.
The Party isn't harmed by American allegations of human rights violations in China. The Chinese don't care. Assange hasn't done anything to offend the Chinese.
No, sorry. You missed the gist of my argument. But, you did get the font correct, so that's progress.
Hacks us repeatedly, on an ongoing basis.
We need a smaller government but strong defense department
I'd settle for a competent government.
Good luck with that. I have started voting constitution party since the GOP and democrats both abuse their power and spend to much
I am also enjoying the spectacle, but then I don't have a dog in the fight. If is causes problems for the USA government, all the better.
.
From the BBC:
BBC News - List of facilities 'vital to US security' leaked
This latest leak makes abundantly clear that Mr. Assange is less interested in transparency than in publicizing U.S. vulnerabilities and practices. One is no longer dealing with embarrassing diplomatic cables. Instead, a strategic inventory of sites has been disclosed. This latest leak is of potentially significant value to U.S. enemies, as they have in their possession a list of critical facilities that they could target.
IMO, no nation can or should allow its critical or vital interests to be threatened with impunity. The U.S. should act either through appropriate legal channels to bring Mr. Assange to justice or, if such options are not available, through covert means so that he can be prosecuted. It should not allow its national security to be undermined without acting to bring an end to that situation.
No. What this proves is that the people in the know are idiots. Who do not deserve their clearances since they do not understand on how to keep things secret. Or the people who released this info to Mr. Assange were double agents feeding him inaccurate intel.
You cannot expect for Mr. Assange to worry on one nation's security. If that nation itself does not protect itself from traitors. Those traitors being the agents who released the info to him.
Funny how this didn't happen under Bush but has under Obama

Abu Garib??? Also wikileaks took years for getting this type of stuff. So chances are it is partisan bs that started with the election of a black president from the democrat party. Strange how some of the biggest traitors to this nation are all republicans?
You obviously did not get what I was saying. I was calling him out for being against Obama for being a member of the wrong party and nothing else.Talk about partisan bs.
What's your point? I may not like Obama (indeed he is the first President of the US that I can honestly say that I hate) but I'm certainly not going to go blaming him for something that was not in his control. No more than I blame Bush for what happened on 9/11. Unless of course you have some kind of proof that Obama purposely ordered Manning to leak info?

Actually, no I don't have a dog in this particular fight. I am just an outside observer. opcorn2:Then you DO have a dog in the fight. Be honest.
I just cheer anything that causes distress to this USA administration.
Productive in what way? What do you consider a productive viewopint on the admin? Why, exactly? How is that a productive viewpoint?

That would depend on your POV, would it not?Well, I can say that generalized applauding of anything that causes the U.S government distress is unproductive, in my book.
