I watched it last night. Judging speaking ability is certainly subjective. However, I would put a paycheck on the vast majority of people agreeing with me rather than you on Jindal's speaking ability compared to Obama.
Moreover, it was a horrible speech with a terrible argument on Jindal's part. The last thing the American people want is to be taken for a bunch of idiots. If you are a state that is the recipient of tens if not hundreds of billions of dollars in federal aid due to Katrina, and if it were not for all the jobs being financed by that federal aid your state would have one of the worst, if not the worst, unemployment rates in the nation, then it is the utmost in hypocrisy and intellectual dishonesty to rail against big government. Its like a welfare recipient, on medicaid, drawing food stamps, that derides socialism.
Then, for him to argue that during the past 8 years Washington Republicans "went along with huge spending increases". They did not "go along with them", they wrote the bills that paved the way for those huge spending increases. They were the ones that handed us more debt than all previous administrations combined. So if the good governor wants Americans to trust the Republican Party again, then he should start by being honest with the American people himself.
