Why does this sound familiar?
I wouldn't know.

No...He's a brute. He's an offensive lineman that bangs his body into other brutes on a daily basis for good money and for the entertainment of fans everywhere. He is just what he is.
Tell me...do you think this sort of stuff doesnt go on on soccer pitches around the globe? Do you think they dont use racist names, slurs, and attack every essence of who you are? This isnt ****ing kindergarten. They arent saints and they arent monsters. They are grown ass men playing a brutal sport.
Do I think that players on soccer teams regularly use racist terms against one of their teammates, threaten to kill him, threaten to defecate in his mounh, threaten to assault his mother and gang rape his sister? No, I don't. However, if you have some examples of this please link to them. This is unique to the thug mentality that some - repeat some - NFL teams allow to flourish. This racist goon was given a position of leadership in Miami by people who apparently couldn't offer leadership themselves. This is a thug who was kicked out of not one college, but two, and who was kicked off the first NFL team he played for. Apparently none of that bothered the people in Miami.
think about it
it will dawn on you
we'll know when we see the smoke
Lets stick to the vulgar and racist comments. I think we can all agree the comments about the sister were over the top. Then again...not really. I guaranTEE you, comments like that are made on the field by people ALL THE TIME trying to get under peoples skin.Do I think that players on soccer teams regularly use racist terms against one of their teammates, threaten to kill him, threaten to defecate in his mounh, threaten to assault his mother and gang rape his sister? Now...racist UK soccer fans? What are the odds....

I heard that in that world pooh doesnt stink either.Yeah, it's mildly funny that anyone has the nerve to suggest that racist remarks don't happen in soccer. Wasn't all that long ago that a dude in one of those UEFA league teams got sidelined for blatant racist remarks.
And let's not forget the crowds...
And yet...his teammates are his most vocal supporters.I think the NFL needs to raise it's standards a bit when it comes to player's behaviors. That video of his rant was pretty pathetic. He is NOT a good representative of the team. I would think you would act like that towards your opponents but not your own team mates.

But at least there is no problem with anti-gay rhetoric...
Homophobia in football: Why do gay Premier League players feel they can't come out? | Metro News
I could do this all day...but wont. Look...no one is claiming Richie Incognito is anything other than what he is. Its not smaller than what it is, but its also not bigger than what it is. It is what it is.
Hardly surprising. When there's no real leadership, it is left to the loudest and the meanest to take charge. I'd offer that having his teammates defend his conduct speaks volumes about the culture of that locker room.
Go back and read the Cam Cleland piece from earlier in this forum. Proof that its possible to play this 'violent' game without becoming a mindless, racist thug.
Definitely. The coaching staff is definitely partly to blame.
Yeah, normally it isn't with their own teammate, however. I know football players as a rule aren't the brightest bulbs in the chandelier, but ruining the life of a guy who is on your side is particularly dumb. Of course, he's educated and that probably counts against him.
You do understand this was their teammate, right?
I think you have to be a man to understand.
Men like to handle problems internally. If you have a beef with a dude, you settle it with that dude. You don't go and tell the world - and the media. That's a capital offense in an NFL locker room.
Women tattle. Women go to HR. Women air their grievences to everyone else. Martin did a bitch move.
Again...NO ONE is suggesting everyone is that way. By some reports not every team tolerates it. Some do. Some element of this exists at every level. There is nothing shocking, surprising, or new. As I have said...anyone that has ANY exposure to this game that is now expressing mock outrage is simply a joke. Read some of the history of the game and you will see it is and has always been prevalent.Hardly surprising. When there's no real leadership, it is left to the loudest and the meanest to take charge. You know what they say about apples and where they tend to fall...Why do you continue to compare the behavior of fans with that of teammates? How is that in any way comparable?
Further chickification of America
