That's after the previous revolution.Since there is no proletariat, there can be no proletarian revolution.

I've been reading a lot of history lately, especially Byzantine history, which has fascinated me, especially how you have this thousand-year empire that eventually just couldn't take any more.
It's made me wonder... how do you think the United States will end as a distinct political entity?
Never watched it, thats the backstory of Joss Whedon's Firefly, only I left out China's part.
What separates the US from the rest of history is that the US isn't an Empire. An Empire consisted of one group ruling over many other groups, and eventually, one of the many groups rebel, and secede, taking territory with them, and it goes on and on, until there are no more territories.
The US isn't an empire, because the Federal Government, treats all it's subjects (states) equally. Currently, there is no one group ruling over the whole United States, all the States are equal in power, one state, or the Federal Government can't do anything drastic without the consent of every state. There is currently no hard-done feeling in any state for them to secede.
Differently, would be the British Empire. One group, a small Island, ruled a quarter of the world, from Canada to India to Fiji. The Indians were the first to leave, taking India with them, then we get the second group, the Africans, then we get the Islands, etc. Now look, it only took 25 years after the war for Britain to go from ruling a quarter of the world, to ruling a few small islands across the atlantic and the pacific.
The Byzantine was the same. One group, the Emperor in particular, ruled a vast amount of land. The same with the Roman Empire as a whole, the Emperor, as one, and one city, Rome, ruled an even vaster amount of land.
With all that said, I'd say the United States wouldn't end through [internal] disintergration, or by secession.
It isn't going to happen.
Give up the hippy-ish nonsensical bull****.
You think the United States will continue to exist forever? Forever is quite a long time. History would suggest that even the most powerful states don't last much more than 500 years or so.
I would rank the most likely ways the United States will end in the following order:
A) Gradual evolution into something else, most likely a superstate.
B) The extinction of humans.
C) The de facto end of ALL conventional states because technology renders them meaningless.
D) Everything else.

Do you think that humans would ever go extinct? I think that we are nearing a time and technology that might enable humans to live on forever... though I know, that if the Universe collapes all life might end, but it is theoritically possible to use worm holes and such to escape even that event.
Having set our sights on the moon and beyond, America will eventually make first contact with aliens who will favor us for our drive, ingenuity, and curiosity......and our movie and musical value. They will offer to take our nation to their planet in order to merge cultures because their own culture is beyond boring. Meanwhile, back on Earth, Europe and the rest of the world will be left in the capable hands of Russia and China and everybody lives happily ever after.
The states will secede and go their separate ways.
But not for quite some time. I dare say we will yet see the American Tricentennial.
My prediction is a massive and unexpected strike from a country that pretends to befriend us to appease us until its aggression against us.....China
many factors in history and present lead me to believe this is very likely
My question to anyone who things the US will dissolve is: why? Why would states leave the union, or why would the US as an entity dissolve?
Why would they even want to conquer us?
It would be a passive aggressive act brought on by the U.S. sticking it's nose in the business of the Chinese ancient culture and influencing China's loss of Thaiwan. They have expressed their great disdain for thaiwans dissent in many ways, but we interfear.
creativedreams said:The only reason China is interested in increasing their economic status is to be a military contender against the U.S.
creativedreams said:This is clearly shown by how they are taking most their profit and puting it toward their military and technology to knock out our satellites.
creativedreams said:They know that in a pre-emptive strike which includes simultaniously knocks out our satellites we are instantly on a level playing field.
Why would China want to knock out our satellites? That would royally screw them over too.
Haven't you heard of their successful tests in knocking out satellites with rockets. Exactly how many reasons can you give for this that don't include hitting down our satellites?
Off the top of my head...six.
1. Hitting someone else's satellites, 2. Just trying a provocation to see how the US will respond, 3. Hitting specific satellites rather than trying to hit them ALL, 4. Demonstrating to the world that China is now a space power (for acceptance), 5. Demonstrating to their own people that China is now a space power (for pride), 6. To see if it works as a precursor to future space technology.
And let's not forget that the United States has this technology too, but it doesn't mean that we're going to start shooting down Chinese satellites.
What would the U.S.'s attitude be toward China if Hawaii and Alaska seperated from the U.S. and became communist mainly due to China's influence and backing?
