GOP Hawks Press Biden to Target Iran Directly Over Soldiers' Deaths

President Biden is facing calls from congressional hawks to escalate attacks on Iran-linked targets, including within Iran itself, in response to the deaths of three U.S. service members in a drone attack in Jordan.

Why it matters: Heeding those calls would risk significantly expanding and drawing the U.S. further into an already growing regional conflict that has sprung up as a result of the Israel-Hamas war.

Driving the news: "Last night, three U.S. service members were killed —and many wounded — during an unmanned aerial drone attack on our forces stationed in northeast Jordan near the Syria border," Biden said in a statement on Sunday morning.

There is a divide in the Republican Party with regards to America's place in the world. I am not sure it is as cut and dry as you think. There is an isolationist streak taking hold of Republicans.

It’s obvious that Biden saying “don’t!” many, many times isn’t working and that conducting (pin prick?) ‘counter strikes’ (but never in Iran) for about every 8 to 10 ‘we know Iran was behind them’ ‘proxy’ attacks on US forces isn’t either. At some point, Biden is doing to have to stop doing the same things over and over, yet apparently expecting a different result.

Correct. To the righties, however Biden responds to Iran's attacks is the wrong move. They're infected with BDS.
