Your complaint would have some weight if the Republican Party didn't depend so heavily on using racism, homophobia, xenophobia, and Islamophobia to rally their base.

Indeed, and the position of those "members" of the Republican Party (the vast majority of whom haven't ever done a lick of work on behalf of that party) believe that

• someone who is "sincerely racist" should have their views respected and catered to;
• someone who is "sincerely homophobic" should have their views respected and catered to;
• someone who is "sincerely xenophobic" should have their views respected and catered to;
• someone who is "sincerely Islamophobic" should have their views respected and catered to;
• someone who is "sincerely anti-Semitic" should have their views respected and catered to;
• someone who is "sincerely anti-Democratic" should have their views respected and catered to;
• someone who is "sincerely gynophobic" should have their views respected and catered to;
• someone who is "sincerely antiintellectual" should have their views respected and catered to; and

the list goes on.

W Bush gave way to Trump. W Bush was just as awful as Trump is. Lets not forget, he installed Alito who is one of the biggest piece of shit judges on SCOTUS, which is saying a lot given who is there.

Yes, W Bush was an awful president and made terrible decisions. He was also Cheney's puppet. But I'll give him credit for not being an evil egomaniac who constantly broke laws to improve his position in life. Bush was just ignorant, and an international embarrassment.
