The Jewish National Fund is paying former President Bill Clinton half a million dollars to make a 45-minute speech in honor of Israeli President Shimon Peres’ 90th birthday, according to a new report.
The event, which will be held June 17 in Rehovot, Israel, at the Peres Academic Center previously asked guests to pay just more than $800 to attend, to cover Clinton’s fee. That requirement has since been canceled after Peres said he wouldn’t attend if it became a fundraiser, according to the Times of Israel.
