Germany fears EU to go ‘DOWN THE DRAIN’ if UK 'keeps the nice things' after Brexit

Re: Germany fears EU to go ‘DOWN THE DRAIN’ if UK 'keeps the nice things' after Brexi

No my claim is that they were forced into the cluster**** and are now trying to get out of it without losing too much face. They cant after all do 180 and admit that they were wrong and Putin was right.. so it is happening slowly. Each new mistake the Ukrainian government does, the less support it will get from Europe.

But the EU is still supporting them so your theory is wrong. The fact that the EU can be forced into something again proves they are spineless. If they cannot stand up to what happened in Ukraine how could they stand up against the UK when that is Germany's top export market?

Re: Germany fears EU to go ‘DOWN THE DRAIN’ if UK 'keeps the nice things' after Brexi

So you think the EU ministers are "spineless" when it comes to Russia? Ever think that they dont care about Ukraine at all and were only pushed into the mess thanks to the Americans and Brits? You do know that the EU/US/UK support (at least for now) a borderline neo-nazi government in the Ukraine? Ministers and countries have been distancing it self from almost the start.. from the Ukrainians.. because of this. The only thing keeping the EU in the situation, is a massive political pressure from within NATO.

Now with the UK it is another matter. Here the EU ministers do not want the UK to have all the perks of the EU without consequences.. there will not be any "backing down".. the UK will (when it finally gets its own political mess in order) have to pay dearly for leaving the EU.

Your characterization of the Ukraine government is mere Russian propaganda.

LOL sure... so you are denying that it was neo-Nazis that defended the revolution in Kiev? That these very people have quite a lot of influence in the Ukranian government?

If you (figuratively speaking) think the EU is not supporting Ukraine then look at how their debt is being dealt with compared to Greece, the Ukraine is essentially being bankrolled by the EU, which leaves them in a unique possition to hold Ukraine back.

Now you're moving the goalposts. The government in Ukraine is a legitimate nationalist government. You are providing aid and comfort to the Russian aggressor.

The next American president should recognize that Russia under Vladimir Putin is an authoritarian, plutocratic regime that poses a serious threat to our values, interests and allies. We should contain and deter Russian aggression by reassuring our NATO allies that we will defend them, and we must support those living inside Russia who are struggling for a better, more democratic future.
The problem boils down to the nature of the Putin regime. Since coming to power 17 years ago (initially as prime minister) by ordering brutal force against Russia's region of Chechnya, Putin has demonstrated a ruthless willingness to do whatever is necessary to stay in power. Any threat — real or imagined — is dealt with decisively, whether it originates inside Russia or abroad.
Since returning to the presidency in May 2012 after a four-year stint as prime minister, Putin has launched the worst crackdown on human rights in Russia in decades. Critics, journalists and opposition figures are regularly harassed and arrested — even killed, as happened to Boris Zemstvo just yards from the Kremlin in February 2015.
In Ukraine, Putin couldn't stomach the prospect of citizens demanding an end to corruption and deeper integration with the West. Were Ukraine to succeed, it might pose a threatening alternative to Putin's corrupt authoritarianism in Russia. So he invaded Ukraine in late February 2014, starting with the annexation of Crimea. Since then, nearly 10,000 Ukrainians have been killed trying to defend their country against Putin's aggression. The next American president should provide lethal military assistance to help Ukrainians defend themselves. . . .

Russia is a serious threat. The US should treat it like one.

This topic isn't about Russia, please refer to the OP.

You brought up "evil Russians."

No, I didn't. You did.

That is a direct link to your first post in this thread.

Here it is below for all to see.

Your characterization of the Ukraine government is mere Russian propaganda.

First post about Russia in this thread.

First post about Russia in this thread.

I plead proudly guilty.

There is nothing in that post about the EU. There is nothing in that post on topic. My 'evil Russians' post was me mocking your post, because it was devoid of anything on topic, and devoid of anything remotely contributory to the topic in question in the intellectual capacity needed to constitute a worthwhile contribution to the discussion at hand - just more of the same bigoted Russophobic pro-NATO propaganda.

Russian propaganda was introduced into the thread. I called it out.

That doesn't make your post any less off-topic or moronic.

Re: Germany fears EU to go ‘DOWN THE DRAIN’ if UK 'keeps the nice things' after Brexi

Don't be silly. The Ukraine is a European problem, that the EU made an inexcusable mess out of. It was so bad, in fact, that a President that wanted nothing less than that kind of international security imbroglio saw himself forced to act, after the EU had triggered the crisis with that unspeakable "trade" treaty without taking precautions against a Georgian Repeat.

Detaching Ukraine from Russia is a massive triumph for the West. It's part of the USSR block for F's sake!

That the Russians kept hold of Crimea and Eastern Ukraine and only 70% was pulled away is hardly a surprise. The Russians have lost this part of the Motherland.

When in 15 years the Ukraine is much richer than Russia and Belo-Russia the final drama of the fal of the Soviet Empire will happen. Hopefully it will involve an other push for propper democracy.

We forget how far Russia has come in how short a time. Give the a little longer to get to full modern democracy.

Re: Germany fears EU to go ‘DOWN THE DRAIN’ if UK 'keeps the nice things' after Brexi

Britain was wise to get off that sinking ship. EU benefits mainly Germany, Denmark, and a few other wealthy nations, while sucking the poor nations dry via the Euro and the ECB. it's a grand experiment, which has failed, expect to see other nations following Britain's lead within the next 2 years.

I think it will take longer but then the Communist block collapsed very quickly......

When the best reason the EU supporters have to persuade nations to stay in is the threats of the leaving process you know the EU is a dead man walking.

Moving the goal post? LOL no I am not.. and **** Russia and their aggression. There would be no aggression if it was not for the neo-nazi nationalists wanting to seize Sevastopol... that is a freaking fact.

Continuing Russian propaganda.

If you're going to go off-topic like this for the sole purpose of harassing people in the thread, and because you don't have anything to add to a topic about the EU/UK tensions other than 'EVIL RUSSIANS HERPDEP!' then GTFO.

We get it, you hate Russians, thanks for your 2-cents (but no-thanks) now GTFO!

Actually, its worse than propaganda, its hate-speech.
