Rupert Murdoch Buys National Geographic

this thread cracks me up. Nat GEo is run by liberals and has been for years.
"No problem"-liberals

Nat Geo is no being run by a conservative:

" HUGE PROBLEM...right wing bias ...SQUAWKKKK" - liberal.

Run by liberals? Is there liberal bias you've observed?

It's worth noting that NatGeo also sponsors courses - online,DVD, or CD versions which are very interesting. Some are relatively inexpensive while others are more expensive. I got a mailer last month outlining their offerings and I was interested in a few.

The Great Courses

It's another way to support NatGeo.

If someone doesn't like that Murdoch bought the magazine, they they should not subscribe. Whining about it isn't an answer to anything.

Oh Boy! I can't wait until we read the special segment on "Global Warming and Why The Vast Majority of Scientists are Wrong".

Whats wrong with countering the propganda and manufactered narratives of the alarmist ?

Did I say that you did? Seems like my sentence ended with a question mark, not a period.

It seems to me you are presenting a false dilemma.

Actually, 'whining' is all a part of the process of getting things done. Ever heard of boycotts?

Sure but a boycott is an activity. Whining doesn't involve any activity.

I said it is part of the process. No one is going to boycott if no one is complaining.

How is it false if thats what it says in the OP?

In an effort to stave off further decline, the magazine was effectively sold by its nonprofit parent organization to a for-profit venture whose principal shareholder is one of Rupert Murdoch’s global media companies.

The dilemma was decline or sell.

The dilemma was decline or sell.

The dilemma you present is either go out of business or sell to Fox as if there is no other alternative.

Me either, it will be great!!!!!!! :boom:2dance::beer::2dancing:

I am excited!!!! This is cool.

The alarmists manufacturing propaganda are the "skeptics."

What was the third alternative?

What I quoted was in the OP article.

Sorry, I misread that part. That quote says what Nat Geo did. But that does not mean it was the best/only solution.

The editorial line has changed considerably. Today they no longer recognize the difference between conservatism and partisanship.

Paul Gigot, who has worked at the WSJ since 1980 and who was Editorial Page Editor before Murdoch purchased the paper, runs the same editorial line that the Journal has always run. It is no more or less partisan than it has ever been.

Most self-identifying conservatives turned much more sharply partisan starting in the early 1990s. Which explains many of the GOP's troubles today.
