And who cares?

I feel sorry for Zimmerman. Every time he farts, it will make the news now. His private life is kaput, short of visiting a plastic surgeon and totally changing his looks.

And who cares?

You obviously cared enough to respond.

Others may care because it shows he is still armed.

What does it matter to you whether another person cares or not?

And Twitter erupted with a bunch of young idiots saying "ZOMG! He has a GUN??? Why is he allowed to have a GUN?????"

I cared enough because I respect a man who was proven to be innocent's privacy. He was acquitted. People should really get over it.

He was pulled over! Who hasn't been pulled over at least once? Why is it noteworthy? Because he has a gun? Isn't that legal in the United States?

Public record. It has has nothing to do with his privacy.

It was wise for GZ not to say where he was headed or the media and press would make that address their headlines.

I blame Obama. This is another scandal for sure.

It was grossly inappropriate for the Texas Highway Patrol to release information about him such as not wearing a disguise nor overall to issue a press release about his location including then revealing what he is driving.

The press and media does not review every police video cam tape nationwide every day. This was a press/media release by the Texas officer or his department.

Given it public knowledge of death threats against him, clearly whoever in that law enforcement enforcement agency that contacted the media rather blatantly wants George Zimmerman to be assassinated. Are there any police agencies that have not become Departments of Public Endangerment?

Public record. It has has nothing to do with his privacy.

Yeah it does. The number of death threats against him and his family is massive. That officer or someone in his department issued a press/media statement to announce "That guy so many people want to kill? Here's the vehicle he is driving and where he was last seen. This should help those who want to kill him to find him."

It just became even more complex with law enforcement deciding it will be informants to would-be assassins on where he is located, what he is driving, what manner of self defense he has, and that he does not have any security guard etc.

Zimmerman apparently isn't going to be allowed much privacy. But when's the last time you were stopped and the vid recording was shared with news outlets? I don't understand why the DPS released this.

Clearly this was stage to make Zimmerman look bad. We need some ****ty ass websites digging into the cops personal life, posting his families picture and email addresses, and coming to the conclussion that this is all a great cover up and conspiracy. That's the ticket!

Fair is as fair does. If that officer or someone in his Department decided to deliberately put Zimmerman and his family at greater assassination, it certainly should be just fine to publish information about their officers who are not under waves of death threats.

Or, "The Texas Highway Patrol Divulges George Zimmerman's Location, that he is alone with no security, and what make and model of vehicle he is driving." The officer releasing this information requested his own identity to remain anonymous."

I think I do. With all the death threats, threats of riots and protests, George Zimmerman is likely seen as a potential troublesome Latino that the Texas Highway Patrol would prefer to not stay in Texas. By overtly deliberately exposing him and his family to assassination, harassment, stalking and danger, they wanted to make it clear to that out-of-state Latino to get out of Texas and stay out.

I suspect the Texas Department of Public Safety does not have a track record of inviting non-resident Latinos to their state.

No it doesn't.

It is a Public record.

No expectation of privacy at all.

The price of fame is that you lose your privacy.

The officer did not write a ticket, which he could have done. He could have hassled him about the gun even though it was legal. Apparently, the officer chose to let him move along.

If I were Zimmerman, I would always carry a gun. His life is in danger.

I guess what I don't see is the problem with this event. If you go over the speed limit, you are subject to being ticketed. Why just yesterday I saw a white cop giving a ticket to a white man for going over the stupid 25 MPH limit on my street. Amazing, huh?

I am certainly glad to hear he was packing a gun... as he has already proven that he is willing to pull the trigger, I am supposing the run of the mill punks will now give him a wide berth, and leave him alone. I know I wouldn't want to be wearing a hoodie and approaching him in anything close to a menacing or threatening manner.

That's not the issue. The issue is pro-actively contacting the press and media.

Does the Texas Highway Patrol issue press and media releases showing what the governor of Texas and his family is driving, when and where?

It should then be made well known publicly that the Texas Department of Public Safety is a free detective agency. If a woman is trying to hide for a stalker, fleeing and hiding from domestic abuse, the abuser or stalker only need ask the Tx highway partrol if they have any footage of her or her vehicle. And it should already have been posted online anyway. Video of everyone in any police video ever - plus what the person said, who was with the person and whether or not the person was armed. But they don't, so this was specifically to deliberately expose George Zimmerman.

I do not agree with your general concept of "no expectation of privacy." That is just a slogan. But that isn't the issue at all. It is the police issuing a press/media release about someone it is well public knowledge has received many, many death threats as has his family.

Does he have any PayPal bucks left to pay the ticket? My one and only speeding ticket was a metric asston of bucks to fix. :doh

That's not the issue. The issue is pro-actively contacting the press and media.
They both are an issue.
Regardless if you think it is just a slogan.
It is a Public record.
So there is no expectation of privacy at all.
This was not something that was not going to be reported.
Yet they blocked out the plate number.
So you really have nothing to complain about other that your dislike of how public information was disseminated.
