Woman shoots man in gas station.

So not only does NY law punish the victim, you believe that's the right thing to do. Noted.

Who exactly was the victim? The guy who stabbed another man with a knife or the obnoxious guy knocking stuff with a steel pipe? They both sound like loose cannons and both were served a piece of justice for their inane actions.

And, in the NY case both men did "bad things" so which exactly is the victim? The stabber or the steel pipe guy?
If you and I get into an argument and you stab me, then I'm the victim. If you then come to my door and threaten to kill me, I'm still the victim, but you'll be dead.

The guy with the knife did go to jail. The irony is guy with knife would have never went to steel pipe's door if steel pipe wasn't hurling his pipe against neighbors wall. So, knife man is dead and steel pipe man can sit in a cell. Due process for all. SYG laws could have easily gotten both men out for acting like clods after either of those stupid crimes.

Shooting guns off near gas pumps?

The woman was shooting at the man's feet...making him dance. He smacked her good. She killed him.

Her demeanor suggests she had done this before. She even took pictures.

There have been thousands of self defense cases before this. There will be after this. That's because there are so many violent, sadistic people out there.
yes ...with guns

From the story: "Believing he was going to be stabbed again, defendent struck the victim on the head with the metal pipe killing him."

Neither should have gotten off scott free.

Once again you announce your view that everyone had a duty to die at the hand of anyone who wants to kill you.

BS, man swinging and hitting things with steel pipe wasn't scared. He just chose a different weapon then knife guy.

He had a bloody nose and two black eyes. That does not mean you are nearly unconscious.

That has nothing to do with whether a person reasonably fears permanent injury. It doesn't matter what has happened, but what the future danger is. Over and over you argue a person may not defend her/himself until she or he is no longer able to anyway. In short, you oppose any right to ever use deadly force for self defense in real terms.

And the way you know that is?

The only stray cats around her that survive are black and dark grey ones and with a specific personality trait. All the others are picked off by birds of prey. Hawks during the day. Huge barn owls at night. But the black and dark ones that survive hide. If they have to move, they will scurry along the corner of a wall (difficult for a bird to strike in that angle, are harder to see at night as owls are the greater danger, and overall live in fear and hiding. Any sound startles them and has them running for cover. To hide 99% of the time only so cautiously going out if food requires it - and most are just skin and bones as a result. And IF the outdoor cat sticks to that, it has a very good chance of survival unless dying of starvation as the alternative - where cats that don't and otherwise are easy to see and easy target don't.

We've rescued many cats and kittens in that situation. When they are down to the last days of starving, no strength left, they will finally just lay down in the open to die. If we see that, we'll rescue it. If we don't, it won't be there the next day. An owl got it.

You demand people live that way too, don't you? To hide. To scrurry as fast and unnoticeably if the person just has to go out of their house with bars and locks, avoiding all people and public places. To live in fear and hiding - because you claim that is the only ethical way of life and law should tolerate nothing else. If a person breaks that way of living, whatever happens to the person - child or adult - that person asked for it and had it coming anyway. If a woman is walking down the street, is kidnapped, raped and killed it's her fault for recklessly being in public.

Sure, set up a strawman and talk in circles. You provided evidence where a man wielding a steel pipe against another man's apartment wall and continued to pitch a fit until the guy called the police and came at him probably to either grab the pipe or pop him one and then justify that he should have died which he did after the guy with the steel pipe popped him one. Great story to support lethal force only the icing on the cake is you wish the guy with the steel pipe not get sent to jail. Bizzare

I've no idea what you are talking about but have a good night.

You have made your point clear enough. The man with the pipe committed the crime of not remaining hiding in his apartment in your opinion. Since you require total fear and total apathy towards others, why would you care who died and why anyway?

Only it didn't happen that way. The man with the steel pipe was banging on his neighbor's wall being a complete ass. Then continued to be an ass out in the hallway when confronted by the neigbor. Instead of apologizing for being an ass for banging on his wall he decided to whack him on the head with the pipe instead. What a great place to live with neighbors stabbing each other, smashing steel pipes on walls and people's heads:roll: Now what were you saying about SYG. Maybe someone could have gotten off scott free:doh
