IT director who alleged evidence withheld from Zimmerman defense fired - U.S. News

Zimmerman's defense team spent a huge part of its time trying to get its hands on all of the evidence before the trial.

It took someone within the Prosecutors office - director of IT, in fact - to find the "error" and correct it. All the evidence was gotten to the defense, albeit very late in the process.

For that, this employee was fired.

Where's our beloved Eric Holder on this? Not even interested in looking into it? This is your story, idiot. The FBI already said racism wasn't involved here, so why are you chasing that rabbit trail. (I know why.)

This is the most evil, corrupt, and biased administration in the history of the United States.

If I'm not mistaken, there are still several misconduct issues before the court related to this trial and the prosecution's handling of disclosure to the defense. It's up to the judge in the case to deal with these issues, not the federal DOJ. I presume the firing of this individual is also a state level issue unless there is some human rights issue involved.

I was intrigued with this case because I have seen similar ones personally. There was some good journalism on it that got burried by the verdict - the stories came out on Saturday early in the day.

One of them notes very accurately the prosecution turned over the "raw data" to the defense but not the information found after that data was properly analyzed by the IT director. The prosecution and the lady who fired the IT Director contend they had no obligation to turn over anything but the raw data - I think they are wrong - but I think that because not EVERYONE has the ability to convert the raw data into the material / messages proven. We are talking about text messages found on Trayvon's cell phone that he had deleted and were not readily available. I would contend that the "general public" can not convert that raw data into the real messages and that the court should find against the prosecution for not providing the texts to the defense. The next issue, though, and one I can't find answers too is would the material have mattered - was it "material" evidence that was withheld? On that they will likely skate since the texts probably did not include Zimmerman and provide the defense no information as to how Zimmerman would have suspected Martin of anything.
