AG calls Martin killing an 'unnecessary shooting'

Why do you assume that? Zim was in a very proned position where permanent and even fatal damage could have easily been delivered. That is why he had a right to self defense.

again, what is this assumption based on? An effective top mount is extremely hard to escape from, even when people specifically train to escape from it. That is why it's a desired position in fighting

Don't let the truth get in the way of these people. Obama, Holder, Sharpton, Jackson.....If you're white you will be prosecuted. How many times are we going to let these people run the justice system in this country? GZ is targeted and if you think he is safe now.....well....I pray for GZ. How many black on black crimes do we see every day in the major cities. But GZ is the devil??? Wise up America. This is a slippery slope that will take the silent majority to become THE VOCAL MAJORITY! It's time!!
 
This Zimmerman case has brought out the disturbing realities facing the black community for all to see in perfect clarity.

There is this unhealthy, singular thought process, where an overwhelming percentage of black Americans - seemingly 100 percent - see this verdict one way only. There is no ability to think, no deductive reasoning whatsoever, in their opinions. They spout the analytical offerings of a child, with no interest or effort to look at the case objectively.

No consideration at all that eight homes had been broken into in that neighborhood. No consideration of the troubles Martin had had with his own family, his school, with drugs, with stealing, and a failed attempt to purchase a gun. No consideration at all to the fact that Zimmerman had been in no such trouble before, whereas Martin had a history of misdoings.

I guess such actions seem so typical and normal for a teen in that setting, it registers with no one as unusual or problematic.

More than anything, that is what I find disturbing. And here is Eric Holder, after the FBI has determined racism played no role, trying to keep the investigation and race tensions wound as tight as possible.

There is so little hope for where we're all headed. I fear a second Civil War is brewing, and it's going to get ugly.

as much as I am critical of current circumstances in the African american community, if I was such a person, I doubt I would be a stranger to such alienation or distrust.

It exists for a reason, and those reasons have only been intentionally dealt with for a very short period in history, and not always successfully

The deepest problems in the black community have nothing to do with racism. They're utterly and completely self-inflicted. Horrific family disintegration, no interest in proper parenting, a complete lack of focus on education, idolization of the worst of society....that has nothing to do with what white people are doing 50 miles away.

And there are wonderful examples to put forth as pillars of the community. Instead, they're shunned and ridiculed as "Uncle Toms" and "sellouts" that don't "keep it real."

Read apdst's posts. You can hear the frustration within him. I feel for folks like him, who only see the problem getting worse. No one will listen to him in that community.

It's a different story when you have a wall of meat heading right for you.
 
why should I care what Holder thinks about the case?... he's not part of the case, he's a bystander like everybody else.

In your opinion, would YOU be more or less apt to get yourself in such a situation if you had a gun? I believe the situation wouldn't have escalated if Zimmerman didn't have a gun.

There would be some merit to the argument I suppose if this were not a gated community. I assume these were not public roads/sidewalks, but a visitor to the area may not have necessarily made that connection since we as a society tend to think of all neighborhood roads and sidewalks as being public.

His fathers girlfriend, whom he was staying with at the time, lives in that gated community.

Time for what exactly. Is this some kind of call to arms? Are you serious?

A minority fighting for equality should not be a threat to you and any oppressed group has the right to challenge their oppressor. You can not deny that African Americans have endured centuries of oppression in this country. You may not be happy with the way efforts to equalize things have played out and I will agree with you; we have failed, but that does not mean that what is at the heart of the movement....a fight for freedom from oppression and equal opportunity.... is not a valid fight.

There are extremists on both sides just like any other political or social issue. Neither extreme will SOLVE or even help the problem. So, you can either get angry and be an extremist and be a part of the problem, or you check yourself and calm your temper and be a part of the solution. This is America, it is a great country, and you get to decide. Choose wisely.

are you seriously espousing that a semi-recent history of racism, state segregation and oppression would have no affect on such things? Look, I completely agree that in the modern context there is little justification for them and they are self perpetuated and further ingrained through things like an established culture. But it's clear they didn't form in some vacuum, either

I absolutely agree, but clearly history in this country grants a legitimate claim to such distrust of mainstream american society.

If Zimmerman had been black, instead of a "white Hispanic", nobody outside of Florida would have ever heard about this case. Jesse and Al would have said nothing; Obama would have said nothing; media coverage would have been scant.

Proof? One word: Chicago.

Wait, CNN and the NY Slimes have added a new class terminology. There is now "White Hispanics". I sure that GZ's grandfather would differ with that terminology.

Hispanic is an ethnicity that comprises all manner of people of differing racial background. Just look at the mixed racial state of a place like cuba

My theory is that the Obama Administration (led by Holder's Justice Department) pressured Angela Cory and others to press bogus charges against Zimmerman and bring this case to trial. Their intention the entire time was a "Not Guilty" verdict. No prosecutor with half a brain would have brought this case to trial. It was all of the State's witnesses that destroyed their case. The State's own evidence destroyed their case. That's not by accident. It was intentional. They wanted to lose this case before it went to trial because a Not Guilty verdict WAS the plan. The Democrats are purposely trying to divide this country on every front. Racial, Religious, Economic, ect. On every issue the Democrat Party is purposely dividing this country.

If it was Zimmerman's intention to "stalk and kill" Martin as Axledouche put it in a tweet earlier today, then why bother calling 911? Why didn't he just shoot him the back.

What better way for the race hustlers and the Obama Administration to solidify blacks under their control. Get the black community in an emotional mob, mad at white people and in permanent victim status mode so they ignore high unemployment and the destruction of the black family unit under Democrats. What better way to solidify Sharpton, Jackson, the NAACP and Obama/Holder's "street cred" than a tabloid manufactured case like this. It's textbook divide and conquer. If you see the hyperbole coming out of MSNBC, it's criminal. The NAACP is calling this a lynching. All of this hysteria is BY DESIGN and unfortunately blacks are being used as pawns by The Left.
