Am I Missing Something With The Zimmerman Case? [W:141]

Re: Am I Missing Something With The Zimmerman Case?

I think Trayvon was killed because of George's stupidity and recklessness. George was NW trained.

I think Trayvon was killed because of his own stupidity and arrogance. "how dare this creepy ass cracker follow me. I'll wait for him in the dark and teach his cracker ass a lesson"

Re: Am I Missing Something With The Zimmerman Case?

I was shot at simply because I got lost and wound up driving through a black neighborhood in Mobile. That is racist

You keep making racist statement and someone might be motivated to ID you and inform your community what kind of person you are.

Making racist statements can get a person in trouble in real life ask the cast of big brother or Paula Dean.

Just informing the racists.

Nothing wrong with exposing racists. If they said nothing wring why hide?

Seems the jury didn't agree with you, nor do I. All Trayvon had to do was keep heading home, but no he wanted to pick a fight. How stupid was he.

I wasn't just talking to him, and if he is not racist and he is confident his comments are not he has nothing to worry about.

Re: Am I Missing Something With The Zimmerman Case?

"you feel" however you answered your own question, there was no proof of anything like what you feel or him profiling. Period.

The jury did have to let him walk. They found him innocent. It's Trayvon that got himself killed, how stupid can he be.

My point is no one should be getting angry over the outcome... even if you were against GZ, there wasn't enough evidence.

Everyone is innocent until proven guilty, so he wasn't really "found innocent" he was found "not guilty". Saying TM got himself killed is also an assumption, there isn't enough evidence to prove TM provoked the killed, he allegedly was the one screaming for help, and he wasn't the one who ignored the 911 operators instructions to not follow TM. You can twist this anyway, so thinking that TM got himself killed is only your hypothesis, no one knows what truly happened.

I can state for absolute fact as least as recently as 6 or so years ago, there are areas of Chicago where if you're white and don't look like a junkie, prostitute or cop, you damn sure don't want to get out of your car. Particularly at night. And if it is cops venturing it, you can be certain there's at least 2 of them.

Re: Am I Missing Something With The Zimmerman Case?

Sorry for your frustration, but what does it have to do with the state's failure to prove its case against Zimmerman?

These demonstrations by the African-American community in the aftermath of the TM - GZ trial show anger. They surmise they've always been given the short stick. That's why, lately, they've been demonstrating against all kinds of things (yes, some not at all related to the trial) and plan to demonstrate against more: gun control laws, stand your ground laws, fairness, etc..

I've always wondered if some in the African-American community want to be successful. I mean, there's plenty of examples of African-Americans who're successful. How does someone who constantly decries racism explain these African-American successes?
Do they care more about achieving success their own way instead of just achieving success?

The correlations always get to me. I'm mean, the rooster doesn't cause the sun to come up in the morning even though every time a rooster crows, the sun comes up. By the same token, no one has proven that having a disproportional number of African-Americans in prison proves the justice system is biased against African-Americans. What else could be factor? How about a greater number of African-American families have single parents? Usually the parent isn't home. They're at work. How about a disproportional number of African-American students drop out before graduating high school... let alone college or a trade school? How about that a disproportional number of African-Americans are taught to hate the white culture?

Finally, let me point out that some African-Americans are more than willing to accept some correlations like a biased justice system or rampant racism, like I've mentioned above, but are unwilling to agree on the meaning of another correlation: that African-Americans disproportionally cause crime.

The shame of it is that most black men in positions of power won't address the issue of the real problems of these communities, they just pander to those who shift blame to whites, the police, corporate America, or whatever. Those who do council self reliance and discipline, like Bill Crosby, are shunned and derided. The responsiblity for these problems doesn't lie only with The Man but overwhelmingly with blacks themselves, and the problems won't be solved until they decide to accept responsiblity and work to end them.

This doen't mean that others can't help, we can see where they are trying to help and do good works. It doesn't mean that good government policy won't help. But we can see now that things are only getting worse despite such efforts.

Usually when Eric Holder, Obama, Al Sharpton, and so on call for a dialogue on race it means "shut up and listen to me."
