OK mate! 30,000 is a massive protest no matter how you decide to compare irrelevant stats. Don't forget your Computer Science teacher in middle school taught you... "there are lies, damn lies, and statistics"

That photo was taken in August of 2011 before TM's growth spurt when he was 16..

I know when it was taken. I know where it came from. What I don't know is what it has to do with the Martn-Zimmerman altercation.

Even that is doubtful. Many wanted a fair trial for GZ, incuding myself (and a grand jury being used), but the TM protesters (true believers) wanted GZ to get a public humiliation followed by a long sentence to teach those "creepy ass crackers" that "profiling" is wrong. We even got treated to a new race/ethnicity of white/Hispanic out of this media farce - is Obama now a black/white or would that be a African/white?

I try not to pander to emotions when dicussing serious issues. I tend to ignore those who do.

I never did understand that. I have zero emotional investment in this case. Either way, meh...

It has been entertaining and fun to debate, however. I think it brought many of us here at DP closer together.

I agree with you. It's been a blast. I've learned a lot -- learned some empathy I didn't originally have (on both sides) -- about courtroom procedure -- formed some opinions about our justice system -- all kinds of things. And, for the most part, DPers have been great.
