I voted "guilty." I don't think they'll convict him of 2nd Degree Murder. If that's the way it's tried, and that's all they can find him guilty of? I think he'll be found Not Guilty. But if they can find him guilty of something lesser, then I think they probably will.

Self defense. Zimmerman walks free, and America's good neighborhoods will be safer for it.

I voted "innocent" but I think he will be found not guilty. In my mind he is hardly innocent. He got out of his car and followed Trayvon down the street at night.

He is guilty of being an idiot wannabe cop, but not guilty of murder.

He should be Innocent, but Racial Egotism and Political Bias will cause him to be guilty. Just another step in America's spiral downwards.

George didn't make that neighborhood safer. He put innocent people at risk.

I am in favor of NW.. but I don't want Georges in my neighborhood.

I voted guilty.. I expect he will be convicted of manslaughter or aggravated manslaughter.

I think passions on this one are too high for an objective look at the facts.
Jury members will dig in their heels on both sides, and hang the jury.
I think if did a cold look at just the law and the evidence, he would be not guilty,
but I don't think that will happen here.

I wouldn't assume potential jurors are too emotional... That's media hype.

moot point, he's bever going to get a fair trial.

Isn't that the truth.

That gated community hadn't had a case of someone getting shot and killed since its establishment until zimmerman came along wanting to act out his police wannabee fantasy and trying out his newly acquired martial art training skill and his conceal carry weapon to good use. He was itching for it.

I don't call that making it safe for the neighborhood.

I am not sure how jurors are rejected in Florida.
I know in some states both the prosecution and defense get to strike
6 jurors each (for no reason).
The Judge can strike as many as he chooses.
So when the courts completes vetting a juror, and finds them acceptable,
both sides may choose to use one of their strikes to reject a juror.
Does anyone know if the process is similar in Florida?

It is. They get 10 strikes each, though.

I think its ten strikes for each side and more if they need it.

Z took a gun to a fistfight (at best) with a minor, a fistfight he might have started. Most people/jurors can see the problem with that.

You can read minds now.... cool.

Each side gets six peremptory challenges (dismissal for any reason) and unlimited challenges for cause. I assume the judge rules on the validity of the cause.

Your comment makes it seem as if a fistfight was planned by Zimmerman from the start... if this is not what you believe you should probably word your comments more carefully.

If this is what you believe.... what makes you think that he planned on getting into a fight?

Z is a full grown adult male. He had a gun, he followed a minor that lived or was staying in the neighborhood and that minor got shot. No matter what else, a responsible gun owner has the responsiblity to avoid putting oneself in a position that he might need to shoot someone, if possible. It was definately possible for Z to have avoided the situation to start with, he should have waited for the police.

Which didn't answer my question.........

I didn't ask if it was possible to avoid the situation..... It is obvious that he should have waited for the police. Yet failing to wait for the police does not make one a murderer.

That is like telling a guy who kills another guy in a bar fight in self defense that he is responsible for being at the bar.... he didn't have to be at that bar!!!!!

Guilty.

Too many holes in Zimmerman's story to be believed.

You can't take guns into a bar.

Being at the bar is completely different to being armed and chasing and following someone merely walking on the street.
