George’s trial is rapidly approaching.

Defense needs more time, and certainly more funds, to provide an effective defense. The state of Florida has unlimited resources in their totally unwarranted and malicious prosecution of George.

Ironically, individuals constantly seeking the spotlight to portray George in a negative light want to say absolutely nothing under oath. I’m not at all surprised. However, the lies these people have continually spread are slowly being brought to light. I wholeheartedly expect many more of their lies will be revealed at trial.

I continue to be amazed by what the state of Florida considers their ‘evidence’. It now appears the state has somehow found an ‘expert’ that hears words and sentences that only he can. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement and FBI experts, after exhaustive testing of the same recordings, were unable to hear any of these ‘mystery words’. (Where is Ms. Cleo when the state of Florida really needs her!!)

I’m extremely disgusted with Florida’s judicial system.

Me too... It's not only the justice system that dissapoints me, but It's also seeing so many people willing to lie and put their ideological beliefs ahead of the truth.
 
Total BS. The Defense is trying to taint the jury pool in their favor with pre-trial publicity. Sorry, but we had a guy kill someone in self-defense who was acquitted inside 4 1/2 months of the shooting and it sure as hell didn't cost both sides $750K combined, and quite frankly, by the black letter of the law, the guy probably shouldn't have walked, so it isn't like it was an open and shut case.

The fact that it's likely that no one on this board outside of Fisher knows about this guy is a wonderful example of why it's NOT bull****.

It is BS, Maggie. "We need more money and more time" is insane. Zimmerman has about the whole police department and the prior DA's on his side to begin with. It isn't rocket science. "Well we believe that X's wife said something to her hair dresser about this case so we need to subpoena their facebook and do depositions because X is the cousin of Y who is a police officer." They are out on so many tangents it is ridiculous and then you have people like Joko thinking they should bring in the sidewalk for no reason other than that it is there. There is no reason to have rebuttal witnesses for the rebuttal witnesses for the rebuttal witnesses lined up 10 deep.

Of course the hilarious part is if you were ever to find yourself facing a criminal charge the first thing you'd do is find yourself a lawyer like Omara.

No I wouldn't. The funny part is that you think spending a lot of money on superfluous trial prep equates with good lawyering. As a lawyer, I know who I would need to go to and they are a hell of a lot more like Matlock/Atticus Finch than this guy. Shockingly it is the former chief public defender who is now in private practice and is probably the best criminal defense lawyer I have ever encountered. I've beaten all the big dollar lawyers in my area on civil cases enough to know they would be the last people I'd hire for the criminal.

Trying to combat the negativity, outright lies and false information that was put out there by the black community, Crump and family, and the prosecution, is not trying to taint the jury pool.

Different set of circumstances. They do not compare. Period.
Look at all the delays that are directly attributed to the Prosecution in this case.
15 supplemental discovery releases. Damn.
They sure were not in a hurry to turn everything over to the defense. Which of course the defense needs time to review and prepare for.
Come on. You are just being unrealistic.

*If this is true*....and you have done litigation, you should not pass judgment on the overall performance of trial counsel, particularly as it relates to the resolution of the ultimate issue or issues by a jury unless, you know what sort of problems a side may have had with witnesses, all the issues with the evidence or the scope of what they had available, what happened in conferences in chambers, etc., etc., -- unless you were actually part of one of the trial team.

Criminal (particular law and procedures) vs civil.....dude, are you an expert in both?

that's what i would expect the father to say
i would have done the same, were my son the one about to go to trial
we see actors from both sides of the case making appeals to the public - from which the jury will be drawn
and no, the resources available to the defense are never going to compare to the near unlimited budget of the state. but isn't that is true for every criminal defendant

george zimmerman killed someone. he insists it was an act of self defense. the state says it was not and now must prove that it was other than a self defense shooting

and when george is found not guilty, which must be the outcome unless the prosecution is still hiding evidence, zimmerman will make a ton of cash from selling his story for the inevitable tv movie
then he will have the money to sue crump for slander
and he will counter sue martin's parents - and should prevail in that action, based on a non-guilty verdict. probably won't win much since they will have already blown thru their recent settlement

so, the speculation IS fun
looking forward to the trial

lot of folks will soon be eating crow
only hope i am not one of them
