SANFORD, Florida -- The former neighborhood watch leader charged with fatally shooting a Florida teenager told a judge Tuesday that he agrees with his defense attorneys' decision not to seek an immunity hearing under the state's "Stand Your Ground" self-defense law.
Zimmerman has pleaded not guilty, claiming self-defense. Martin was fatally shot in February 2012 during a fight with Zimmerman in a Sanford gated community.

SYG really isn't needed in this case. He has a right to defend himself inherent in common law.

When someone is sitting on your chest beating your head into the sidewalk, there is no upper limit.

At that point, he should've politely asked him to get off, and then proceeded to gently nudge him off of his chest.

Only beyond a preponderance of the doubt. Which is all that is needed to secure an acquittal.

O'Mara made it clear that was not what he was doing by pointing out to the Judge how it can be had during the trial.

Unfortunately I believe O'Mara is wrong in this approach in regards to the criminal aspect of immunity.

Not in these circumstances. As that so-called unarmed teenager was a young adult who was using his body as a lethal weapon.

No, we been through this, a 17 year old is not an adult, he was unarmed and shot by a full grown adult. Good luck with that. Could be self defense, but...

He's the same age I was when I joined the Navy. The only reason why he got shot was that he was sitting on Zimmerman's chest beating his head into the sidewalk.

Yes we have been over this. You have nothing in regards to this argument.
He is old enough to be considered an adult.
He is old enough to be emancipated, which means he is also old enough to be a soldier.
And would be tried as an adult by the Justice system for his assault on Zimmerman had Zimmerman not killed him.

You have absolutely nothing in regards to this argument.

This is a dumb argument. He was not emancipated and was under 18. Did one of your parents have to sign for you to go in the Navy?

The counter argument shows that your argument has no bearing, as Trayvon is old enough to be considered an adult.

Secondly, your argument is dumb, as a 15 year old could do what Trayvon did and legally be killed for the same thing.

Three facts of this case so far. Martin was a minor, He was shot and killed, by Zimmerman. I dont know about the rest, neither do you.
