SANFORD - Attorneys for George Zimmerman have filed their final witness list, and it's grown to 210 people.

The just-revised list now includes 71 employees of the Sanford Police Department – half of its total payroll - and 50 new unidentified witnesses, most believed to be character witnesses.

It includes no revelations. Defense attorneys filed a similar list three weeks ago, but it included 130 individuals.

Many of the witnesses – 81 – are identified by number or letter and not by name, so it's not clear who they are or what they are expected to say.

The new list, as did the earlier one, includes Trayvon's mother, father and step-brother, attorney Benjamin Crump, ousted Sanford Police Chief Bill Lee Jr., Sanford City Manager Norton Bonaparte Jr., and retired State Attorney Norm Wolfinger.

I wonder if the list includes Obama, for his comments regarding the case, and God, for planning all this:lol:

It is becoming very clear the defense may be banking this case on character and media hype, not evidence.

If you got the law on your side, pound the law.
If you got the facts on your side, pound the facts.
If you got neither law nor facts, pound the table.

If O'Mara thinks he can win this proving some kind of conspiracy against Z, well, I don't think the jurors will take kindly to that.

why would the jurors object to an exposed conspiracy?

That sounds like a rediculous number to me. There can't be more than a dozen or so witnesses relevant to the actually events in question. Even with expert and character witnesses, I don't see why either list should top 50 at the very most.

The DEFENSE?? You must be joking.

The Pross has a lot on their side, all the Def has is Z's statements. The Pross's plan will be eviscerate Z and make him out to be a liar. O'Mara will make it out to be Z should never have been indicted, but you got a dead boy and Z with a smoking gun in his hand.

I don't think the jury will care about how the media was involved, their job is to determine guilt or not guilt based on the facts of the case.

If O'Mara takes this route it is an indication of how weak he thinks his own case is.

IMO, the prosecution has to disprove Zimmerman's accounting of events. Unless the jury decides he initially instigated the confrontation -- and then, it's not going to be murder, in my opinion. This is all about circumstantial evidence, some little eye-witness testimony and Z's account. They will assassinate his character, razzle-dazzle the jury with charts and diagrams and hope enough of the crap sticks to the wall to get their conviction.

Chain of evidence issues, authenticating exhibits, rebuttal witnesses maybe. Not everyone has to have direct knowledge of the crime to be a relevant witness.

What is clear is he is trying to prepare rebuttal for the crap that the Prosecutor is going to throw.

The Pross has a lot on their side,
iLOL
No they don't.
They pretty much have nothing. Every release of evidence has been in Zimmerman's favor. Yet here you are saying such absurdities. :doh

all the Def has is Z's statements.
No they don't.
They have his accounts, the witness accounts and the physical evidence.

The Pross's plan will be eviscerate Z and make him out to be a liar.
It the prosecution does this the jury will see through it.
Such a plan can not work in face of the known evidence.

You have no clue.

The defense has to be prepared for what ever the Prosecution throws out there.

I agree... The whole 200 Didn't know Geroge or Trayvon.

How many witnessess has Angela Corey lined up?
How much has the prosecution spent to date in investigation and trail preperations?

Hasn't the town of Safford spent just over $600,000 in its role?

So why all the concern on what the defense is preparing?

what does that have to do with the conspiracy to indict zimmerman, sharon?

Oh jeez............. When you kill a minor with a gun in Florida, you can't just prance around and fluff it off.

Oh jeeze ......... another ridiculous and unsubstantiated comment by sharon. Go figure.
It doesn't matter that Trayvon was a young adult. His actions were criminal. And as such, Zimmerman was legally allowed to use self-defense in such a situation.

No.. Trayvon's actions were not criminal...

No.. Trayvon's actions were not criminal...

in sharon's world it is alright to assault someone and break their nose without consequence

Wake up

Z has pics *the jury loves pics*.... proof of his injuries and medical records, and an eyewitness who saw Z wrestling with M, when Z was on the bottom, struggling to get up plus you also have, the SPD on record that no physical or eyewitness testimony contradicts Z's version

But Z never once claimed he shot due to the injuries he was receiving.

Yes sharon, they were.
No matter which way you look at it they were.
Either his actions were wrong and illegal by initially assaulting and continuing it.
Or his actions were wrong and illegal after knocking Zimmerman to the ground by jumping on top of him and assaulting him.

Either way, sharon his actions were criminal.
