Why did Martin run?

TM did begin running and I assume he initially intended to run back to the condo but something made him change his mind and hide instead. IMO he wasn't sure if Z was a cop or not and heard the car door open and thought Z was going to follow him and....didn't want Z to find out where he was residing. The reason was was because he was packing a blunt and didn't want police coming to the Green residence. So he turned the corner and hid, hoping Z wouldn't see him and maybe break off the search. But he was close enough to hear Z's conversation with 911 and realized he wasn't a cop, sized him up and figured he could take him. I think on the way back to his car Z either heard M whispering to DD on the phone or maybe saw him hiding, turned south down the path to check it and and M figured at that point he had nothing to lose so he came off the porch and approached Z. That is why the altercation happened a good 30-40 feet down the path and not close to where Z told the cops on the walk through the next day.

This is another case of Z altering what happened for the simple reason he didn't want to make it look like he was following T after 911 asked him to break off the search.

Z is Z's worst enemy. Even though I think the events for the most part follow what Z has said, he keeps altering little events to make himself look more innocent when in the end it might make him look like a fibber.

I'm still not convinced M "decided he could take" Z. I don't know if M even knew Z was out of the car until he saw him on the path.

I suspect M stopped at one of the breaks in the buildings to look back at the street. If Z left his lights on he may have thought Z was still in his truck until he realized Z was "right behind" him "again".

Pretty similar to your idea without the "malice" of bravado on Ms part. I dont thinke either of them premeditated anything. I think they discovered each other when they were very lose to each other and over-reacted out of startlement.

Your initial premise is already bias. TM was not hiding according to DD or any of the witnesses. GZ claimed that TM attacked him right off the bat, but that isn't corroborated by any of the eyewitness testimonies. In fact, all witnesses reporting the two were arguing initially... including DD. So why believe Zimmerman's claim that Martin was hiding?

Wow... you put together an entire paragraph filled with fantasy. Why go though such extremes? Does occam's razor not apply? If you have to go though such an elaborate guessing game, it's more probable that your supposition is incorrect, not the other way around. It is far more likely that TM starting to run, but later decided against it due to his own bravado. "I'm not going to run. I'm not scared!" He was on the phone with a girl, so that is far more likely a reason. No proof supports your extreme drug related theory. TM was simply walking to the store and back. That's it and that's all. I've decided many times to get away for a while and used the store as an excuse to do so.

Occam's razor my friend... GZ is more likely a fibber than someone telling the truth for the most part but altering a large number of little facts. His entire recount of the initial encounter is already refuted by the eyewitnesses who heard arguing. Where he said the altercation took place is nowhere close to where TM's body was found.

Yeah, it's more likely he's a fibber.

My opinion that TM was hiding is based on one simple observation. If TM was anywhere on the north-south path Z would have observed him the first time he passed that path while walking east. It wasn't until he headed back in a westerly direction that he decided to head a few feet down that path to check something out.

I'll go a little further, if TM was hiding as I think he was, it was on a porch on the west side of that path.

There are no breaks in the building, it is one continuous structure and there would be no way TM could observe anything going on at the street Z was parked.

Three buildings, two openings on each side.

Look it up. Retreat at twin lakes.

There might be fencing, but its not one continuous building on each side. One could look over a fence.

I stand corrected.

"I suspect M stopped at one of the breaks in the buildings to look back at the street. If Z left his lights on he may have thought Z was still in his truck until he realized Z was "right behind" him "again".'

But I don't accept this theory as there is nothing in DD's statements to support that.
