...he filed charges due to pressure from other cops. This is an absolutely indisputable fact and this is a perfect example of how people take misinformation and fabricate it as a fact and continue the gossip line. So many people have bought into that myth I thought it best to highlight it for efficiency and to use this as a learning experience so people can try to avoid the same mistake in the future.

The claim is during Serino's FBI interview he told them he filed charges because he was pressured. That is absolutely impossible. The interview being referenced was done on March 3rd. He did not file a request for capias until March 13th. Ten days later. Since it was March 3rd it is understandable he said he didnt have enough evidence because he obviously learned more about the case by the time he filed for charges on March 13th. Some of us pointed out be never claimed he filed due to the pressure. He simply pointed out there was pressure.

The other interesting fact is "Goons" is a common term in the area to refer to gangs and GZ obviously thought TM was a criminal who was in a gang so when he said "goons" he was talking about the gangs.

The mistake some have made is looking at the transcription date which is April 5th and thinking that was the date of the interview.

There is a link to the PDF here:

In the future, I hope people check facts more closely before running misinformation marathons.

ETA: Serino stated GZ instigated the event simply by the act of following TM. He also implied he did not believe GZ due to GZ sounding "scripted."

Nice pick up.

In the interview of the 3d he did say he ..."pressuring him to file charges..." That is a fact.
I'll take your word that the request for capias was not filed until March 13th.

What we don't know is did the "pressure" continue from 3/3-3/13 for Serino to file.

Is there any reports to show the other officers backed off. If I was on the jury, it is a question I would have.

Did you read the link? I didn't have to get past the first sentence.

In Sanford Investigator Chris Serino's 2 page interview with the FBI, he says he felt pressure from three officers to charge Zimmerman, even though he didn't feel there was enough evidence to charge

Sorry, dear Furry, no cigar:

In an April 3rd interview with FBI investigators (incorrectly dated March 3rd in the filing, which was released by prosecutors on Friday as part of a new round of discovery in the case against Zimmerman), Serino alluded to pressure from within the department to file charges in the Martin shooting, and a concern that leaks to the public were inflaming the case

Perhaps you don't know quite as much as you think you do.

Did you read the link? I didn't have to get past the first sentence.

???????????????????? do you realize he said that on march 3rd????? Since he filed charges on the 13th it is obvious he did learn of evidence for PC.

you are skipping over the entire point of the OP. would you care to address it?

Your not going to get away this time. I asked you a question in post 2. Your no response is not cutting it.
So unless you answer my question in post 2 and questions asked by others, we are done on this thread.
It shows disrespect towards other posters to play the word game that you do.

I won't even dignify you question. It is mearly a reverse of what was asked of you.

I will say I am not aware of any other report other than the FBI report with the "pressure statement".

Your question is a moot point because Serino never said he filed due to pressure. If you can find where he said that is why he filed then you have something. Until then there is nothing showing that is the case and the known facts contradict that claim since the chief was against filing charges.

It is obvious he got demoted for ratting on fellow SPD officers to the FBI and it is suspect because he did the opposite of what the chief wanted. It's a nice scapegoat to a superior to say you did something out of peer pressure.

I will believe your statement when you provide a link to the statement.
Till then, all of your post are nonsensical and not worth responding to anymore. Play word games with someone else.

Yet he did make the statement to the FBI he was getting pressure. Granted that may not be the final reason why he filed, but it is on record and nothing you say takes that out of evidence.

This thread means nothing

Just another cheap ass ploy to deviate from your lack of evidence....Hence, the weak case against Z

I'm not ignoring the fact he said he felt pressure to file charges. Never denied it. Never ignored it.

You admit he did not say he filed due to the pressure and that is sufficient.

I have decided you have a reading disability. look at the word "MAY".
I left the door open as to he may or may not have been influenced to file

Until you provide proof that he was not pressured, and that reports were filed to update the FBI report. We don't know for sure.
Unlike you who jump to conclusions way to early. But that is to be expected.

So provide evidence that supports your conclusion.

Why don't you just read the 8 page report Serino filed 2/26.. Its in the first evidence dump.. I think its page 56.

You have a SERIOUS reading problem. SERIOUS.

you said he MAY MAY MAY not have have filed due to pressure. That affirms what I said that he did not say he filed due to pressure. Why? If he said he filed due to pressure then I wouldn't say he never said that. And you accuse others of reading problems??? lol...

I don't need to provide proof he was not pressured. Why? I freaking ADMITTED he said he felt pressure to file. That doesn't mean he said he filed due to the pressure as you already affirmed.

Since we know the chief was against filing charges he had a motive to tell the FBI he felt pressure.

I think the OP has passed the "don't be a jerk" line.

Your messages have devolved to full irrationality. Try to show any self dignity.

Coming from the person claiming the judge and prosecutor are in a secret conspiracy against GZ......lol... forgive me for not caring about your advice on self dignity

Of course Serino is not going to say the pressure he already admitted to is the "final decision". It would ruin his career, and he would have to watch his back for life.

That makes absolutely no sense at all. If saying he was pressured would cause problems he wouldn't have said it at all. He actually had a motive to say it to protect himself from the Chief.

Serino said he was pressured to sign it and that proof has been presented on this forum many times.

Try to keep up with the topic.

Capias Request by Chris Serino on March 13, 2012
Which was a procedural filing so the Prosecutor could take over the investigation.

"As I have stated consistently, at the time and based on the evidence and testimony we had, we did not have probable cause to make a physical arrest."

His agency recommended the manslaughter charge on paper, the statement said, because without it, prosecutors would not have taken over the investigation.

And as we all know the Prosecutor said there was not enough evidence to charge Zimmerman and was taking it to a Grand Jury.

And as for what Serino's actual position was...

Serino said his investigation turned up no reliable evidence that cast doubt on Zimmerman's account – that he had acted in self-defense.

"The best evidence we have is the testimony of George Zimmerman, and he says the decedent was the primary aggressor in the whole event," Serino told the Sentinel March 16. "Everything I have is adding up to what he says."

LOLOL.. Serino wrote it.. and signed on the 13th.. Bill Lee came out on the 20th and said NO.

LOLOL.. Serino wrote it.. and signed on the 13th.. Bill Lee came out on the 20th and said NO.

Wrong!
Or purposely ignoring information.

At 4 p.m. March 12, Sanford police Chief Bill Lee Jr. stood in City Hall plaza in front of a hostile crowd and dozens of reporters and insisted his agency could not arrest Zimmerman because investigators had failed to establish probable cause, the minimal standard of evidence to justify filing a criminal case.

And as already pointed out we know why it was filed and we know what Serino said three days later.
