Judge revokes bail for George Zimmerman in Trayvon Martin case
By NBC's Jamie Novogrod

A Florida judge on Friday revoked the bail for George Zimmerman in the Trayvon Martin case, saying he had misled the court about his finances, and ordered him to present himself to the court within 48 hours.

Prosecutors alleged that Zimmerman, 28, misled the court regarding his finances when $150,000 bail was granted April 20 and accused him of holding a second U.S. passport that he did not surrender to the court. Zimmerman is facing second-degree murder charges in the shooting death of Martin, 17, in February.

Will probably be increased, but yes. Apparently, Zimmerman gave the second passport to the attorney, Omara apparently "forgot" to turn it over to the court - so says Omara and the judge appeared to accept that explanation.

WTH?

How do you get that he is a liar?

The specific purpose of bail is to avoid flight risk.

It's fairly apparent that he will not make a run for it, nor be a danger to society, considering that he's not a sure conviction and that he's too well known. So, no matter what you think of him, he's entitled to bail.

What else is new? No surprise there. Zimmerman's been misleading everybody from day one of his call to the police dispatcher and even before that from his past history. He couldn't even pass the smell test from people who can use their brain to think and discern for themselves. He couldn't even set a small lie straight.

We knew that all along.

and what if the judge disagrees with you?

he's a dual-citizen, which means he could seek refuge in another country.

I'd lock him up knowing this, or at least place him under house arrest.

he lied about his finances & conveniently failed to inform the judge about his dual-citizenship. lying by omission is STILL LYING!!!!!
Actually he didn't.
You might want to check into the allegation before shooting your trap off.

No. You would lock him up because of your bias.

That's not entirely accurate or true. However, do you accuse the prosecution of lying with all the information they omitted from the arresting document? Information that would have painted a much more clear picture?

You have that all reversed and mixed up.

There is no such thing as "lying by omission" in court. In fact, if a person testifies beyond the exact question being asked it is objectionable. MOST people know that. But obviously a few don't.

It wont have any bearing on his defense as it has nothing to do with what happened that night.

Neither does whether or not Trayvon Martin ever smoked weed in his life, but we had a whole thread about that.

That's not entirely accurate or true....

he lied by omission. He is a dual-citizen, with two passports, which allows him to flee the country.

he misrepresented his finances to the judge. that's called lying.

Zimmerman, is clearly a liar. And the jury will know this.

Yet, of course, you would never lock up illegal aliens, or consider them flight risks (denying them bail), since they are here illegally by choice. ;-)

You apparently have no clue. I'm OK with that though.

he lied by omission. he failed to reveal his second passport, which allows him to flee the country.

one should not lie to a judge, twice.

The second passport was turned over to his lawyer. His lawyer failed to turn it over to the court. Where was Zimm's lie again?

his lawyer, represents HIM. if the lawyer fails to hand over passport #2, Zimmerman fails to hand over passport #2.

Not quite. But again, i'm fine with it.

WTF are you talking about??????????????????????

NYC and other "sanctuary" cities that allow all sorts of lenient nonsense to "protect the rights" of illegal aliens, or others that have no real ties to the community, that are routinely granted either low bail or not required to post bail at all. You assert the Zimmerman is a flight risk and a liar that should not receive bail simply because you think him guilty and don't like him. If he wished to flee, he would be long gone; as it stands he must remain hidden, to keep morons from attempting to apply street justice, yet he has not been out of contact with the court/law enforcement authories, much less attempted to flee.
